'Gemutlichkeit . . . ' The Bavarian Pine Tree Inn Style
"Gemutlichkeit" — translate it to include good fellowship, good music, as well as good food — it's one word to sum up the art of good living. Gemutlichkeit is this year's theme for Bavarian Night to be held in the dining rooms of the Pine Tree Inn. (Saturday, June 17, 7 p.m.) "Bavarian Night is the Pine Tree Inn's most festive occasion," Hetty Meyer owner declared. "Guests will appear in their original Bavarian costumes — beer will flow from the barrel. The Dancing Schuhplatters and "Felix the Yodler" will highlight music and dance. "All-in-all, a good time will be had by all . . be sure to come." THE BAVARIAN PINE TREE INN Wonderful German dishes in an old world atmosphere are to be had throughout the year at the Pine Tree Inn, 2441 SW 37th Avenue (Douglas Road). This is the different and unusual place you've been looking for — delicious food, a unique atmosphere, and excellent service. While enjoying your dinner at the Bavarian Pine Tree Inn, you will see an array of valuable collections and many beautiful oil painting on display. FROM THE MENU Specialty of the house is Sauerbraten with potato dumplings — a "dish fit for a King." Favorite among customers is Beef Rouladen with delicious homemade noodles. Another popular dish is pig knuckles, boiled potato and sauerkraut. On the menu you have a large selection of different Schnitzels, including the popular Bavarian Pine Tree Inn Pork Schnitzel with delicious mushrooms. Then there's Lobster Thermidor — boiled juicy pieces of lobster in creamy white sauce, baked in a shell. With the various meat dishes you will enjoy Loewenbrau and Carl's light and dark beer served in frosted pilsner glasses. Leibfraumilch, Moselle, and Maywine spotlight the menu. Besides getting good food, you will also receive excellent service from all the personnel. The chef takes personal interest in every single platter that leaves his kitchen and will not serve anything that does not meet his critical specifications. Last year the Bavarian Pine Tree Inn completed a new exterior and interior program. The exterior is a replica of buildings found in old Germany and admired and viewed by many. The new banquet room is now available for weddings, parties, and other festive occasions. The Bavarian Pine Tree Inn is now equipped to serve you better for all dining needs. The many features of the Bavarian Pine Tree Inn go to make it the ultimate in good food and surroundings — so do stop by tonight. For reservations, call Mrs. Hetty Meyer at HI 6-6480. South Pacific for Everyone
"For the American tourist with just a few precious weeks carefully budgeted for that overseas holiday, the South Pacific until now has been beyond reach. But with the 1960's and the age of jet, the "holiday frontier has been pushed right across the world's widest ocean," Bill Mason of Travel Inc., declared. "Thanks to this revolution in transportation by the modern jet airliner, the two, three, and four week tourist can now comfortably reach New Zealand, Australia and the islands of the South Pacific, with precious holiday time still unused on arrival. A new travel criterion now exists — time in hours, rather than distance in miles. The Pacific West Coast is now only 16 hours from Tahiti, when only months ago it was a 35 hour flight via Fiji, Tahiti and Auckland, New Zealand were once 20 hours apart by air — and now they are 10 hours from each other. The mounting interest in the South Pacific is not the product of jet age time saving alone. Among the hundreds of islands and the thousands of islets, lies the "last frontier" — short of the jungle, the desert or the snowlands of the globe — for the tourist who seeks the world as nature made it. He will find that world among the enchanted islands of the South Pacific.
