If It's Non-Profit Your Group Can Meet Free At Youth Center

Meeting space at the Coral Gables Youth Center is available free to any civic, non-profit organization, the Coral Gables City Commission ruled recently. Political and other organizations have to pay, however, the Commission ruled after receiving a request for free space from a local political organization. The Youth Center gym, which will hold several hundred persons, is available to any group for $5 an hour in daytime and $10 an hour at night, according to Director Jeannette Hunt. Room 100-which seats 100 persons-is available for $15 for the first three hours and $4 an hour over that time. Two smaller rooms, which seat approximately 30 persons each, are available for $10 for the first three hours and $3 an hour over that, Mrs. Hunt said. Availability depends on whether the facilities have been reserved for some other purpose, she pointed out. Organizations qualified for or those willing to pay free use may make arrangements directly through Mrs. Hunt at the Youth Center. Those groups in doubt about their qualification for free use should contact City Manager L. W. Robinson Jr., she said.

Mink Coat, Watches Are Reported Stolen

A mink coat valued at $2000, two watches worth $490 and a $150 bracelet were reported stolen from the home of Russell S. Berkey, 6400 Caballero, Saturday. Officer William Bard Jr., who investigated for Coral Gables police, said the break occurred through a patio door. The Berkeys are to take an inventory to determine if the burglar stole anything else.
