Wedemeyers Sell Building, Plan New Florist Shop
Hans and Grayce Wedemeyer, operators of Coral Gables Flower Shop, have sold their building and lot to Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan Association next door. However, the Wedemeyers won't be moving immediately. They have purchased the same sized lot, 25 feet by 100 feet, in the 3300 block of Ponce de Leon Boulevard. A new building will be built there and they expect to occupy it in July. The Wedemeyers opened their first shop in Miami in 1924 and still operate Multiflora Gardens at 3275 SW 8th St. They came to the Gables in 1937 with a business at Ponce and Alhambra. "We're not leaving Ponce," said Mrs. Wedemeyer this week. "We think it's the place to be. We're just moving further out."
