These S. Dade girls are married now

Mrs. Gordon Mrs. Einhorn Mrs. Piper Gordon-Widdersheim Linda Chere Widdersheim and James Richardson Gordon were married Friday, May 28, at Granada Presbyterian Church, Coral Gables. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Milton Widdersheim, 7825 SW 50th Ct., South Miami. She is a graduate of Coral Gables High School, Agnes Scott College and Duke University. She is studying at the University of Denver towards a master's degree in speech pathology. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brown Gordon, Carnegie, Pa. He is a graduate of Dennison University and has received a law degree at the University of Pittsburgh. After a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the couple will live in Denver, Colo. Einhorn-Gordon Sandra Gail Gordon and Marc David Einhorn were married Sunday, May 30, Temple Emanu-el on Miami Beach. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Gordon, 451 SW 64th Ct. She is a graduate of Coral Park High School and received her AA degree from the University of Florida. She studied at Florida International University towards a career in dental hygiene. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. George Einhorn, 10662 SW 79th Terr. He is also a graduate of Coral Park High School, the University of Florida and received his Masters degree from Loyola College in Baltimore. He is attending the New School for Social Research in New York. After a brief stay on Miami Beach, the couple will live in Brooklyn, New York. Piper-Harmon Deborah Ann Harmon and Brian August Piper were married Saturday, May 29, at Coral Gables First Methodist Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Harmon, 523 Cadagua Ave., Coral Gables. She attended Coral Gables High School and Miami Dade Community College South. The groom is the son of Walter Piper and Lisa Ellis, 1014 Granada Blvd., Coral Gables. He also graduated from Gables High and Miami-Dade South. After a wedding cruise to Jamaica and Haiti, the couple will live in Miami. Rodriquez-King Dawn Patrice King and Edgar Rodriquez were married Saturday, May 22, at Keesler Air Force Base Chapel in Biloxi, Miss. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. King, 1019 Mariposa Ave., Coral Gables. She is a graduate of Coral Gables High School and is currently in the Air Force. The groom is the son of Mrs. Ada Colon, of Riponito, Puerto Rico. He is also in the Air Force.

He'll like the squash this way

The young homemaker soon learns what most mothers know... that many men aren't too fond of vegetables, squash in particular. Yet women like squash, and it's easy to cook, healthful and full of vitamins A, C, and iron. The solution is to fancy it up so that the somewhat bland flavor of the squash springs to life and becomes toothsome enough to have the guys asking for seconds. Spices are the zesty secret, and one very special ingredient ... Bourbon. A good bourbon isn't necessary, though, especially a 101-proof smooth Kentucky bourbon. The following recipe can be used with acorn or butternut squash available most of the year, or even firm, large sweet potatoes. It's easy because it can be prepared ahead of time and needs little watching in the oven. Stuffed bourbon squash 3/4 cup 101-proof Kentucky Bourbon 4 medium acorn squash 1 egg 1/2 to 3/4 cup packaged herb crumbed stuffing 1 tsp. ginger 1 large chopped onion salt, generous grinds of pepper Have butcher halve squash through the girths or use an electric knife. Scoop out seeds. Put halves on cookie sheet with cut side down, bake at 400 degrees until fairly soft, about 40 minutes. Cut thin slice off bottom so each half can sit straight, scoop out flesh, mix with one-half of the herb stuffing, one egg, ginger, onion, salt and pepper and 101-proof Bourbon. If mixture is very thick, moisten with melted butter or one-quarter cup beef bouillon. Refill squash shells, sprinkle tops with a little melted butter and the rest of the stuffing. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Serve over a green salad. (B) Dairy Dip Beat 11/2 cups of Dairi-Fresh cottage cheese until rather smooth. Add 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions including tops, 3 teaspoons prepared horseradish, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Cover and chill. Serve with crackers, chips or carrot sticks. (C) Cheese Sauce for Fish Combine and heat 1/2 cup condensed cream of celery soup, and 3/4 cup Dairi-Fresh sour cream. Add 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese and heat over low heat, stirring until cheese melts. Spread over one pound of your favorite fish fillets in a buttered baking dish. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until fish flakes. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup more Cheddar cheese and return to the oven for five minutes. Serves four.
