Jewish Centers plan series
The Jewish Community Centers of South Florida, South Dade Extension Service, is planning a Jewish film series. Roberta Shevin, chairperson of the planning committee, announced that the film series will begin on Sunday, Jan. 16, 1977 at 8 p.m. at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Dr. when "The Man in the Glass Booth" will be shown. Dr. Allen Rutchik, a noted psychologist, will discuss the film following its presentation. It is a searing drama depicting one man's guilt and obsession with the holocaust. In addition, the film series will include such movies as "Hester Street", "The Dybbuk", "Lacombe Lucien" and "Zalmen or the Madness of God". Each film will be followed by a discussion, including such notable people as Thelma Altshuler, Professor at Miami Dade Community College-North, who will discuss "Hester Street". The series is being held at various locations throughout South Dade and is planned by the Jewish Community Centers of South Florida in conjunction with Beth David Congregation, Central Agency for Jewish Education, Congregation Bet Breira, Hillel-University of Miami, Temple Beth Am, Temple Judea, Temple Samuel and Temple Zion.
