Murder victim's father offers reward for assailant's arrest

The family of a 23-year-old Coral Gables man who was shot to death on Dec. 17, has posted a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. Edward Salem, father of the victim, Aaron Salem, said the reward was posted on a recommendation by Metro police and that the offer is still open. Aaron, who lived with his parents at 7911 Altamira St., was shot to death at a Coral Gables shop where he had worked as a part-time sales clerk for more than a year. His body was discovered by friends at the store, Strictly Tennis, Inc., 1407 Sunset Dr., several hours after he had been murdered, according to police. Metro homicide investigator Det. M. McDonald, believes that there were two persons involved in the robbery-murder. "I am convinced that someone in the South Miami or Coral Gables area was involved," said McDonald. Anyone with information is urged to call Metro Homicide Division at 547-7456.
