Miss Catherine Lugar, daughter of Mrs. Cooper Lugar, 718 Valencia Ave. has entered the freshman class at Newton College of the Sacred Heart, Newton, Mass. Catherine graduated in June from the Academy of the Assumption. ★ ★ ★ Dot (Mrs. Wendell) Thagard likes her new pinchhit job at the Coral Gables Country Club. She helps the regular girl at the swimming pool check-in desk on Saturdays and Sundays, and fills in for her on her day off, Thursday. ★ ★ ★ Dr. and Mrs. E. J. Moulton, 1519 Certosa Ave., observed their golden wedding anniversary this summer at their place in Shelby, Mich. All the family was present. Dr. Moulton is professor of mathematics at the UM. Mrs. Moulton is president of the University of Miami Woman's Club. ★ ★ ★ No "kid-ding." Theatre Group at the Coral Gables Country Club, has cast its next production "Mr. Roberts" with one script exception — a live goat. A comedy, the play is based on the life aboard a Navy cargo vessel during World War II. It will be presented Nov. 14, 16 and 17 at the Club. ★ ★ ★ DU PUY Stuart Du Puy, son of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel S. Du Puy, 438 Cadagua Ave., who graduated in June from Coral Gables High School, is a freshman at Davidson College, Davidson, N.C., and pledged Kappa Alpha fraternity during fraternity rush week. MRS. COOK Mrs. H. W. Cook Jr., 1519 Trevino Ave., is the new president of the Woman's Panhellenic Association of Miami, and Mrs. James B. Wadhams, 810 So. Greenway Dr., is chairman of the association's annual fashion show luncheon slated for Saturday. ★ ★ ★ Kenneth S. Keyes III was one of 20 students awarded a J. Hillis Miller Memorial scholarship during ceremonies at the University of Florida's 8th annual scholarship convocation held Sept. 28. Keyes, a freshman, is the son of Mrs. R. Rymer Keyes, 6820 Riviera Dr., and Kenneth Scofield Keyes Jr., of Dinner Key Yacht Basin. ★ ★ ★ Miss Margaret J. Gilkey, 919 Tendilla Ave., director of guidance in the Dade Public Schools is in Washington, D.C. this week. As one of 46 members of the civilian advisory committee on women in service appointed by the Secretary of Defense, she attended the three day conference of the DACOWITS which opened Sunday.
