Horseplay Puts Boy In Hospital
A bit of horseplay, a flash of temper and one Ponce de Leon Junior High pupil recently landed in Doctors' Hospital with a concussion. The March 19 incident in which Paul D. Winston, 16, of 3601 Toledo St., was injured as a result of a scuffle with 14-year-old Mike Christopher, of 428 Aledo Ave., has brought renewed warnings about this type of thing from Principal James J. Norton. "It was just a matter of an accident happening as a result of the scuffle," said Morton. ""This is a constant concern we continually warn about." The two youths had gone to the school locker room and engaged in a bit of horseplay while supervisors were busy. They pulled at each others' tee shirts and young Christopher became angry and hit Winston. The older boy accidentally hit his head on a locker and was knocked unconscious. Morton said there was no animosity between the boys and the matter has been settled between the parents. He took no disciplinary action; neither did Gables police.

Coral Gables Bargain Days have been extended from two to three days, Retail Merchants Division President Sam Miller said Friday.
