Youth Center Wants Boys For Baseball
The Coral Gables Youth Center is registering boys for baseball in the athletic office Monday through Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Baseball leagues are being formed for boys ranging in ages 6-16. Any boy interested in participating in this program should come to the Youth Center. If you haven't played at the center before, bring your birth certificate. Coach Bill Talbot of Miami Jackson High School will again take the reins of the program for boys 6-12 years old.
Flower Show
Exotic Gardens will present its 1962 Easter floral creations in a Spring flower show and open house April 8, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 5955 Ponce de Leon Blvd. Ron Russell is manager of the shop, which will be celebrating its fifth anniversary. Exotic has four other locations in South Florida. Fred Flipse is president.

Red Nelson Will Lead Our Stadium Committee
Byron M. (Red) Nelson is the new president of the Stadium Committee, the local group charged with operating the City - owned facility on Coral Way. He succeeds Frank Kerdyk. The committee meeting Wednesday morning, also decided to raise its night use prices from a minimum of $200 to $250. Fans will be glad to know 2,500 new bleachers on the east side will be installed. They are to be loaned by the county. Lee Smith is secretary-treasurer. The committee has a cash bank balance of about $1,300 and 15 games already scheduled next year. There is talk by the county of building a larger recreational - athletic facility which eventually would replace the stadium. RED NELSON

Kansan to Charm
With 586 members now on its rolls, the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce is planning an annual dinner that is expected to eclipse any recent chamber event in interest and attendance. The affair will be held at the Coral Gables Country Club on the evening of May 9. The principal speaker will be H. Roe Bartle, mayor of Kansas City, Mo. Lee Smith, chamber manager, says that Roe Bartle is one of the most sought-after speakers in America. For more than a decade he earned $100,000 a year as an international spellbinder.
