Dr. Parrish Assists at Wedding For Son and Joan C. Marion

Dr. James Parrish assisted at the wedding ceremony of his son, John Albert Parrish, and the former Miss Joan Claudia Marion which took place Saturday at the First Methodist Church of Coral Gables. Dr. and Mrs. Parrish, formerly of Miami, now reside in Deland. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald Feige Marion, 907 Alhambra Cir. The ceremony at 7:30 p.m. was single ring. Dr. John H. Hanger of the church officiated. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of peau de ange and reembroidered created lace featuring a scoop neck line and long sleeves. The aisle-wide train fell from double pleats at the waist line and she wore a crown of lace and pearls, holding a double-fly imported French illusion veil. She carried an orchids bouquet. Miss Linda Marion, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Susan Breese of Jacksonville; Miss Judy Cooper, Miss Marion Ezell, and Miss Susan Brawner. They wore identical gowns of Italian silk in gold shade, matching crowns with circular veils and carried ophelia roses and iris. Larry Medlin was best man. Ushers were John Carter, Tom Ragan, David Campbell of New Haven, Conn., Edward Marion, brother of the bride; Gene Robinson of Los Angeles; and William Renert of West Hartford, Conn. The reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. Mother of the bride wore an Italian silk in turquoise shade and her flowers were phalaenopsis orchids. Mother of the groom was in a beige peau de soie gown and her orchids were phalaenopsis orchids. Among out-of-town relatives attending the wedding were the grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Claude A. Cloyd of Fairmont, N.C.; her aunt, Mrs. Julian H. Blue, and cousin Julian Blue Jr., of Raeford, N.C.; and Mrs. Lucy Blair, of West Palm Beach, grandmother of the groom. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School and Duke University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is a past member of the Junior Assembly, Member of the Spinsters and of the Coral Gables Country Club. The groom graduated at Miami High School and Duke University and is a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He is in medical school at Yale and the couple will reside in New Haven, Conn.

July Rites Are Planned

MISS FERGUSON Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Bittle Ferguson of Richmond, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Louise, to Richards DeNyse Maxwell III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richards DeNyse Maxwell Jr., 842 Coral Way. A July wedding is planned by the couple. The bride-elect attends Longwood College, Farmville, Va., where she is a member of Delta Zeta social sorority. Her fiance is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School, Orange, Va., and attends the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, where he is a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity. He is a member of a pioneer family in Coral Gables. He is the grandson of Richards DeNyse Maxwell of Coral Gables and the late Mrs. Maxwell. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Jerome Grubbs, 6909 Tordera Ave.

Toastmasters Sets Fete

The Coral Gables Toastmasters Club No. 1695 will hold an installation dinner, Tuesday at the Pub Restaurant. New officers to be seated are Lon Vann, president; Edwin Richard, vice president-education; Gerald Schainuk, vice president - membership; David Perlman, secretary-treasurer; and Jack Shea, Sgt.-at-Arms.
