WALLACE J. RINZ Rinz Seeks To Keep Council Seat Wallace J. Rinz is seeking to retain his seat on the South Miami City Council. Rinz, a native of Detroit, is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy there in 1949. Rinz has been a resident of Florida since 1950. The incumbent owns the Hospital Apothecary at South Miami Hospital. He has been on the City Council for the past four years and resides with his family at 6510 SW 64th Ave.

C. R. Gibbs, Army Vet, Makes Race

C. R. GIBBS C. R. Gibbs, Army Vet, Makes Race Clarence R. Gibbs, a retired U.S. Army colonel, is vying for a seat on the South Miami City Council. Gibbs is a graduate of the Infantry Officers Advanced Course, the Command and General Staff College and took business law courses at the University of Florida. He has 20-years experience in the field of management, administration, training and supervision. The 20-year Army veteran entered service in Miami in 1940 and served in both World War II and the Korean War. In 1961, Gibbs was named operations director for Goodwill Industries, 1130 NW 22nd St. The Gibbs, who have two children, live at 7630 SW 64th Ct.

J. H. Kline, TV Exec, Incumbent

JOSEPH H. KLINE J. H. Kline, TV Exec, Incumbent Joseph H. Kline, an engineer, director, producer and assistant operations manager for WTVJ, is a candidate for re-election to the South Miami City Council. Kline, a resident of Dade County since 1930, is a graduate of Miami High School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has resided in South Miami since 1955. He served as an instructor at MIT until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he did classified research and development. He was discharged as a lieutenant after being assigned liaison officer with General Electric Company. Kline has been employed at WTVJ since 1949 and is consultant to educational TV channel 2. The Columbus, Ohio, native lives with his family at 6001 Twin Lakes Dr.

Area Men To Referee Pistol Shoot

Former Gables fire captain A. T. Kelley Jr. will help referee the 1962 Flamingo Pistol Tournament March 20-24 at Trail Glade Ranges. Kelley, who lives at 12 Alcantara Ave., is one of three officials who will handle the two-day shooting match of the National Rifle Association. He will act as chief statistical officer and referee. Others are Col. George E. Leppig, head of the Dade County Road Patrol, who lives at 8260 SW 151st St., and Capt. Claude N. Harris, USMC retired, from South Carolina. Leppig will serve as executive officer for the matches and Harris chief range officer. Participating in the match will be teams from the National Rifle Association, law enforcement agencies, regular or reserve units including the National Guard. The county-operated range is located 10 miles west of Miami on Tamiami Trail.
