New 5-Story Apartment Rising On Coral Way
A five-story, 33-unit cooperative apartment building, slated to be one of the plushest in Coral Gables, is under construction at 650 Coral Way. Paul J. Goodwin, of North Miami Beach, was awarded the $390,000 contract for the job recent which will take six months to complete. He was the lowest of two bidders for the job. Owner is Robert L. Othling, 2720 Country Club Prado, half owner of Othling-Williams Motors, of South Miami and Miami. Parks 33 Cars With parking for 33 cars, the building also will contain a basement, laundry room and a 40-foot, kidney-shaped swimming pool. Each apartment will contain 1000 square feet of space, one bedroom, a sunroom which can be converted into a bedroom and two bathrooms. Price of the apartments will range from $20,000 to $26,000, with the Madison Corp., of Coral Gables, exclusive agents in the sales of the cooperative apartments. Engineer is Brown-Sells & Associates. Architect is Tyrus Tripp. Both are Coral Gables firms. Tripp said this week the building is 116 by 125 feet in size on a 157 by 163 foot tract.
Volunteers Needed By TB Association
The Dade County Tuberculosis Association, 83 SE Eighth St., has issued a plea for volunteer workers to help prepare envelopes of Christmas Seals. Volunteers may work daytime or evening hours. Men, women and teenage groups are needed, as well as individual volunteers. Work rooms are air conditioned. Organized groups should make prior arrangements to insure adequate seating. Volunteers may go directly to the TB office or call FR 7-2368 for more details.
