This Ad Previews Things To Come
This page advertisement is the third in a series being prepared by the City of Coral Gables for full size publication in The Miami News and The Miami Herald, January 15 and 16 respectively. The purpose of this campaign is to stimulate interest in all facets of life and business in Coral Gables. All of the advertisements are directed at South Florida residents and tourists alike. A heavy schedule of radio commercials is being used to support the newspapers. A total of 42 commercials per day will be aired over WVCG, WCKR, WGBS and WINZ for a four day period beginning Saturday, Jan. 14. You, the residents and businessmen of Coral Gables, can do your share in this campaign. Whenever you need the services of a professional man or business concern, think first of Coral Gables. Remember, what's good for the Gables is good for you. It's your home town.
Coral Gables Well Served by Business, Professional Men
One good reason behind Coral Gables' remarkable success as a "preferred" residential community is the completeness of its business district and the extensive variety of professional services available right within the city itself. Although Coral Gables might be classified as a small town by national standards-its 1960 population was set at 34,793-there are no less than 5,534 occupational licenses for the current year on file at city hall. This is an increase of 245 over last year. The importance of these figures to the resident or visitor who transacts business in Coral Gables is simple. Convenience. There's no worry about the crush of downtown traffic and nerve rattling crowds here. Wide, palm lined streets, plentiful off-street parking, and the friendly atmosphere that is prevalent throughout the Gables contribute greatly to the city's theme of gracious living. As for the variety of goods, services and professional help available, no less than 90% of the state's 180 categories for occupational licenses are represented. A quick run through the yellow pages of the telephone directory reveals that some Gables firm is listed under almost every classification and under every letter of the alphabet with "Q" as the only exception. From "abstracters" to "zippers", they are all to be found in the Gables. On the professional roster, a quick glance at the city records reveals no less than 30 certified public accountants, 24 architects, 83 attorneys, 27 engineers, 172 physicians, etc. And all of this is to be found in a city of less than 12 square miles. That's Coral Gables.
