U M Choir Will Sing At University Baptist
The 7:45 evening service on Sunday at the University Baptist Church will be a sacred concert by the University of Miami Concert Choir under the direction of Glen Draper. The sacred concert will be in three parts as follows: "Praise ye the Lord"; "Honor ye the Lord"; "Serve ye the Lord". Draper, a graduate of the University of Indiana, and holder of a master's degree from Southern Methodist University, came to the Department of Vocal Music at the University of Miami in September. He has developed a number of choral groups at the University and it is his purpose to have various choirs to appear frequently in the churches in the city throughout the year. In this manner, Draper states, he hopes to assist the congregations in appreciating sacred music in worship as well as giving the choirs of the University an opportunity to increase the relationship between the University and the churches. Dr. T. Rupert Coleman, minister, invites the public to this service. At the 8:30 and 11 o'clock morning services, Dr. Coleman will speak on "Fellow Workmen with God."
