'Operation Home Folks' Sets Theme
"Operation-Home Folks" is the theme for the congregation of the University Baptist Church this week. At the 8:30 and 11 o'clock morning services the Rev. Gent Cofer, the church's Minister to Youth, will open the week by speaking on "My Brother's Keeper." At the 7:45 o'clock evening hour Mr. Cecil Harper, the church's Minister of Music, will speak on "The Christ-Praising-Church." Church Supper "Operation-Home Folks" will find the leaders of the church gathering for supper each evening in the church's dining room at 6. Following the meal Mr. William Cooper, Minister of Education, will lead the group in ways and means of drawing through Christian personality influence more than 500 potentials for the Sunday School. After the instruction period by Mr. Cooper, individuals will share testimonies with their fellow workers on experiences they received in the preceding evening's visit. Following this meeting, the leaders will be assigned the names of individuals to be enlisted, visited and invited to share in the rich and varied ministries of the church. The visitors will extend an invitation to their friends during this visit to accompany them to specific services during the Billy Graham Crusade, March 5-26. Vital Message "Operation-Home Folks" said the Minister, Dr. T. Rupert Coleman, last Sunday, "Is the tangible way in which a Christian will let Jesus use his shoes in carrying the only message that offers hope and deliverance for this world in its most chaotic and explosive era of history. Dr. Coleman will return early in the week from Richmond, Va., where he spoke to the 10th anniversary session of the Richmond Baptist Association. The Association was organized under Dr. Coleman's leadership during his ministry at the Ginter Park Baptist Church of that city. He was the first moderator of the Association. Dr. Coleman came to the University church in 1956 from Richmond.
