Everglades DAR Members Will Model Fashions
Mrs. Henry O. Shaw, regent of the Everglades Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will greet members and their guests today at a luncheon fashion show to be held at the Riviera Country Club. A patriotic theme in decor will be used since February is American History month. Miss Cheryl Claiborne will sing accompanied by Mrs. Velma Ferguson, who will also Play background music for the fashion show. Mrs. Allan Frisbee will commentate. Mrs. Ernie Seiler, chapter member, is chairman. Members of the chapter will model are Mrs. R. M. Oliver, Mrs. David Blount, Mrs. M. L. Shaw, Mrs. Herbert Mills, Mrs. Wayne Allen, Mrs. Emil Speier, Mrs. Brace Boone, Mrs. John L. Bagg, Mrs. Charles Murdock, Mrs. Frances Power, Mrs. James Townsend, Mrs. Corren Youmans and the Misses Kathy and Helen Gibb.
News of the PTA | Panel Sessions Are Popular
By EUNICE TALL MO 1-2294 Tonight in the Palmetto High School auditorium Juvenile Judge William R. Culbreath will speak to the membership pertaining to "Conditions Concerning Our Youth in Our Country". The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Questions from the audience will be answered. This year the PTA is following a "Common Goal" theme. Tonight's theme is "Survey the Field." Palmetto PTA's only fund raising project this year is PTA Dimes Day. The drive began Feb. 9 and will run until March 16. On a designated day of the week dimes will be collected from students in all homerooms. An award of $5 will be given to the homeroom in each grade level first reaching $25. Last year the money was used to purchase two movie projectors, three record players, two menu boards for the cafeteria, 18 picture frames for the art department, several water fountains and other small objects. West Miami Junior High A panel quiz will be on the program for the February PTA meeting of West Miami Junior High School. The meeting will be Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. in the school auditorium. Members of the audience will be asked to participate in the program by asking questions of panel members concerning school guidance, grades, and curriculum. Members of the panel are Mrs. Edna Ross, assistant principal; Miss Irene Frambach, assistant principal for curriculum; Mr. Edward Shriber, guidance counselor; and Mrs. Charles Conklin, parent. Refreshments will be served. Ponce de Leon Junior High Winners of the Science Fair in each of the science classes at Ponce de Leon Junior High School will be present at the school PTA meeting Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. The students will demonstrate their projects at this time. Pinecrest Elementary Pinecrest Elementary's Annual Field Day will be held Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. on the school grounds. All parents are cordially invited to attend. Only the fifth and sixth grade classes will participate. This program will substitute for a February PTA meeting. Everglades Elementary Guest speaker, Mr. Jerome Robbins, member of the Anti-Defamation League of Miami, spoke to the membership of Everglades Elementary School Tuesday evening in the cafe-torium. At this time Mr. Robbins conducted a Rumor Clinic with the help of the audience. Parents and teachers of Everglades Elementary School have begun rehearsing for the school's annual talent show. "Spaceward Ho", an original musical comedy written by Julia Weinstein, editor of the monthly school newspaper, Everglades Echo, will be shown in April. Rehearsals are every Wednesday night from 9 to 11. All interested parents are asked to contact Mrs. Weinstein, CA 1-3944, and attend rehearsals. Sunset Elementary Mrs. Dianne O'Steen, member of the Museum of Science and Natural History Guild, spoke to the membership of Sunset Elementary School Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium. Mrs. O'Steen showed colored slides of the museum at the meeting and reported on the museum facilities offered for children in the community. Founder's Day was recognized during the program. Refreshments were served. Cutler Ridge Elementary A roast beef dinner was given at Cutler Ridge Elementary School by the PTA Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school cafetorium for all parents and children of the school. Decorations followed a valentine motiff. Roast beef, peas, mashed potatoes with gravy, tossed salad, ice cream and a beverage were served. Olympia Heights Elementary A varied program was carried out at the February PTA meeting of Olympia Heights Elementary School Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., in the school cafetorium. To celebrate Founder's Day all past PTA presidents still in this area were present. Guest speaker, Mrs. Ijourie Fisher, from the psychology department of the University of Miami, spoke to the members about "A Happy Child Is the Project of a Happy Home." Juan Mercadal, concert guitarist, provided entertainment for the evening. Refreshments were served.

Boys Choir To Sing For Musicians Club
The Boys Choir of Ft. Lauderdale under the direction of D. Waring Smith will be the attraction Sunday at the 4 p.m. musicale at the Musicians Club of America. The choir has recently made a tape performance for the Fred Waring show, soon to be released. The program will be held in the Dixie Room of the club with Mrs. Dunn-Smith receiving. On Tuesday, Edward Clarke of the University of Miami faculty will present his third in a series of book reviews at 10:45 a.m. in the Dixie Room. The review, "The Opera Martha," by Flotow, will be preceded by a coffee hour.

4-H Clubs Strike Hawaiian Note
West Miami Junior High School cafeteria will be the setting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, when 4-H Club girls will present a Hawaiian Holiday Dress Revue. The girls will model skirts, blouses, aprons and dresses they have made under the tutelage of Mrs. Helen B. MacTavish, 1801 Cortez St., assistant Home Demonstration Agent. There will be other skits and refreshments will be served. The girls' families have been invited.
Pianist, 8 Will Entertain
The Coral Gables Music Club will devote its program Tuesday to a salute to the youth on The Parade of American Music week. Johnny Williams, 8-years-old, will be presented at the 2:30 p.m. program to be held in the Coral Gables Woman's Club. The young pianist has won contests all over the United States. He gave his first recital at the age of 5. He has included in his program of "Rhapsody" by Eckstein and "Snowflakes" by Haubiel, his own composition, "A Little Dance" for which he received a diploma and the composers pin in the International Composition test in Los Angeles in 1960.
