Contest win brings Japan a little closer
A South Dade resident is a little closer to Japan after winning $25 in last week's Times/Guide football contest. Ethel White, of 9340 SW 43rd St., says she added the prize money to her trip fund, which she hopes will finance her way to Japan by May, 1977. A Dolphins fan who "never watches college football, only the pro games," Mrs. White didn't ask help from anybody in completing the contest form. "I just went down the line and picked a team," she said. "I didn't look up the favored team or anything. It took me about five minutes. "I guess I'm just lucky." A secretary for 17 years with Colonial Mortgage, Mrs. White jokes that, unlike Elizabeth Rae, she can type but she doesn't make $14,000 a year. The 18-year Miami resident has a son and a daughter, both married.
