Juvenile justice will be topic at Brotherhood forum
religion "Our Juvenile Justice System - Is it Working for us Or Against Us?" will be the subject of discussion at the Brotherhood Breakfast forum, Sunday, Jan. 16 at 9:30 a.m. in the Youth Lounge of Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Dr. Admission to the breakfast is $1 for members and $1.50 for non-members. Bible teaching "The Bible's Teaching, How to Live Ethical and Moral Lives," is the subject of guest speaker Joseph Kaufman at Temple Betr Tov, Friday, Jan. 14 at 8:15 p.m. The temple is located at 6438 SW Eighth St. Morning circle The morning circle of the Coral Gables Congregational Church, 3010 De Soto Blvd., will meet Friday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Green Lounge. Visiting rabbi Rabbi Abraham Shusterman, Rabbi Emeritus of Har Sinai in Baltimore, will conduct services at Temple Judea of Coral Gables, Friday, Jan. 14 at 8:15 p.m. His topic will be "My Brother's Keeper."
Trapp Circle
The Trapp Circle meeting of the Plymouth Congregational Church, has been changed from Wednesday, Jan. 12 to Wednesday, Jan. 19 in order that Dr. and Mrs. Hasty can present a travelogue. The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. at the home of Ms. Pat Barrett, 3811 NW 13th St. Healthy family "How to have a Healthy Family in a Sick Society," will be the topic of discussion led by Dr. Kenneth Gangel, counselor and college president of Miami Christian College. These sessions will be held at 6 p.m. each Sunday, beginning Jan. 16 at Baptist Christian School, Baptist Church, Riviera Drive and Segovia Street. Scholar Dr. Seymour Liebman, scholar of South American Jewry will speak on "Assimilation or anti-Semitism in Argentina" at Temple Samuel, 8900 SW 107th Ave., Friday, Jan. 14. Men's supper A covered dish supper for men of the church, followed by a special program, will be held Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Peace United Methodist Church, 12755 Quail Roost Dr. Folk dancing Israeli folk dancing with Hava Morris will highlight a meeting of Friends Unlimited, 30-50, Friday, Jan. 14 at 9:30 p.m. on the second floor of the teenage building. The meeting is sponsored by Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Dr. Cantata The children of Temple Zion, 8000 Miller Road, will present a brief cantata "Torah of Truth" at Sabbath eve services Friday, Jan. 14 at 8:15 p.m. Quilting Class A beginning quilting class will be held at Sunset Congregational Church, 9025 Sunset Dr., on Wednesday afternoons, beginning Jan. 19 from 12:30 to 2:30. 'Brotherhood' "Brotherhood" will be the theme of a special children's service at Bet Breira, Friday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The congregation meets at the Killian Pines United Methodist Church, 10755 SW 112th St. Predictions "Predicting the Future -Priest and Prophet" will be the theme of Dr. Harry M. Orlinsky's lecture at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Dr. Friday, Jan. 14 at 8:30 p.m. Dr. Orlinsky is a professor of Bible at the Union College -Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Homecoming Homecoming events will be presented at the Bryan Memorial Methodist Church, 3713 Main Highway, Jan. 14, 15 and 16. There will be an ice cream social Friday at 7 p.m. The Methodist Youth Fellowship will provide entertainment. A reception will be followed by an organ-harpsichord recital Saturday night. The Bishop Joel McDavid will preach at the 11 a.m. Sunday service. The Miami Boy Choir will sing. A buffet luncheon will be served.
