Deaths in the Gables Mrs. Goldman Of Granada Blvd.
Services for Mrs. Emma Goldman, 75, of 6501 Granada Blvd., who died Monday, were held in Cleveland, Ohio. She came here 14 years ago from Cleveland and was a member of Hadassah, Mizrachi and Temple Israel. Surviving are three sons, Louis Goldman, of Coral Gables; Dr. Morris Goldman, of Cleveland; and Joe Goldman, of South Bend, Ind.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Verne Gaige Of Romano Ave.
Services and burial for Verne Gaige, 80, of 311 Romane Ave., were held at Newark Valley, New York. He died Sunday. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; and a son Richard of Coral Gables.
N.J. Rites For Mrs. Sutta, 87
Services and burial for Mrs. Fanny Sutta, 87, who lived at 1335 Sorolla Ave., were held at Newark, N.J. She died Jan. 23. She came here 10 years ago from Newark and lived with her son Bernard, at the same address. Also surviving are two sisters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
H.W. Hamilton, Retired Autoist
Services for Howard William Hamilton, 73, of 3700 Ponce de Leon Blvd., were held Saturday at Philbrick's Coral Gables Chapel. He was buried at Woodlawn Park Cemetery. Mr. Hamilton, retired secretary for Ingman Motors until he retired in 1958, came here 25 years ago from Corinth, Miss. He was a member of the Tamiami Methodist Church and belonged to the Shriners. Surviving are his wife, Margaret of Coral Gables; a son, Howard Jr. of Detroit; and two grandchildren.
Elmer Somers Civil Engineer
Services for Elmer L. Somers, 65, of 1507 Columbus Blvd., were held Feb. 7 at Van Orsdel Coral Gables Chapel. Mr. Somers, who died Sunday, came here nine years ago from Syracuse, N.Y. He was a civil engineer who built seabases in Latin America during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Grace; two daughters, Miss Elaine Somers, and Mrs. Glyn Kimbro, all of Coral Gables; two sons, Robert D., of Syracuse; and John E. of Bridgeport, New York; a brother and four granddaughters.
Leek, 87, Dies; Lived On Genoa
Services for J. Will Leek, 87, deacon of the Riverside Baptist Church were held Saturday at Gerhardt Funeral Home. He died Friday. Mr. Leek, who lived at 1503 Genoa Ave., was buried at Flagler Memorial Cemetery. He came here 34 years ago from Nashville, Tenn., where he was the owner of the Tennessee Cement and Lime Co. Surviving are his wife, Annie C.; a daughter, Mrs. Harold M. Wells; a sister, Mrs. John Stapleton, and a grandchild, all of the Miami area.
Coral Way Presbyterian Serves Youth Each Day
For the past 14 years, the Women's Association of the Coral Way Presbyterian Church, 2091 SW 14th Ave., has had a fund raising Valentine tea. This year the date is Feb. 15. Mrs. Milo Coffrin, 6401 Riviera Dr., a charter member of the association, will open her home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and the public is invited. Mrs. Roy Wilson, 127 Phoenita Ave., is co-chairman. Mrs. Steve Taylor, 5633 Granada Blvd., is president. Coral Way Presbyterian is built along modernistic lines. It was erected in 1946. The pastor is the Rev. James Clinefeller, who has organized a Youth Club of both girls and boys. They come directly to the church from school, one day a week except during the summer vacation. They take art work and Bible study.
