How to Twist at 90! And Kennedy Wired This Republican

By RAYMOND LANG Times Reporter William C. Hunt did the twist at his birthday while 100 guests looked on. Hunt had good reason to celebrate in his home at 1420 Cadiz Ave. He was 90. But the twist is nothing compared to what else he's done. I HAD IT "If I wanted steak," said Hunt, "and hashed brown potatoes and fried onion rings at midnight, I had it!" In 1904, Hunt bought a vacant store, grabbed a bed sheet, borrowed some chairs from a funeral parlor, sold tickets and presto! The first nickelodeon in Camden, N.J. When Hunt was 76, in 1948, he signed up for an English composition class at the University of Miami. "I used to have a chauffeur," Hunt recalled, "and I'd say Pat, let's go. I got to go out to the University to go to my classes." The father of two sons and two daughters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren is retired from active business. WINTER RESIDENT He still owns, however, seven theaters, three newspapers and an amusement park in New Jersey. His home is in Wildwood, N.J., but is a winter resident in the Gables. Four years ago, when he was 86-years-young and a widower, Hunt married his next-door neighbor's niece. On his 90th birthday, Hunt got several dozen telegrams, one from Walt Disney, an old acquaintance. But his favorite was the one sent him by President Kennedy. Hunt is a Republican, too. As you walked down the steps of his Spanish, two-story home and marveled at the patriarch's 90 years, he said spryly: "Take care of yourself."

Joseph Patrick Sullivan, 62, Model Hotel, had been charged with shoplifting by the Food Fair at 3100 Ponce de Leon Blvd. on March 14.
