NEW GRANADA GOLF COURSE Club House as it will look. The estimated $80,000 building is expected to go out on bids in a month to 45 days. The old club house will be demolished later.
New Motel Moves Ahead
Ben Gaines, who plans to build a three-story hotel on South Dixie Highway, got approval from the City Commission Tuesday to tie in to the City's sewer system at South Alhambra Circle. Gaines proposed to build a pumping station and construct a sewer line tying in to the City's system, part of which will eventually serve the entire area. Commissioners agreed that he would be reimbursed later when others tie in. Gaines will pay an undetermined sewer charge and the City will maintain the system. The Commission at the same time revised Gaines' proposed plans for parking along the Caballero Boulevard side of the hotel. Angle parking was changed to parallel, with landscaping provided between the road and sidewalk area. BEN GAINES

More Time Is Required for Appeals
The City Commission Tuesday took a step to slow the appeal process on Zoning items. Their move in changing the appeal from the Zoning Board procedure will cause at least a 15-day delay, rather than the present 10 days. Persons desiring to appeal will have to file not less than give days and within 30 days of their appearance before the Zoning Board. But 10 days must now pass between filing and Commission consideration. This throws it into week end and effective into another week.

CG Girl in Top Post For Dade Scout Planning
Sharon Finney, newly-elected president of the 1962-1963 South Dade Senior Planning Board of the Girl Scouts, formally took office at the Girl Scout luncheon Saturday at the DuPont Plaza. Sharon, who attends Coral Gables High School, said, "When I was a young Scout, I heard about this top post, but I never thought I'd get it." Active in scouting eight year and now a Mariner Scout, Sharon had to serve on the planning board a year to be eligible. She was elected out of four candidates. The new president plans to major in home economics when she attends college. She keeps busy by being program aide to a younger Scout troop; is in the chorus at her school; and she is active in her church. Three hundred girls in uniform watched Mrs. Charles H. Finkelstein of Coral Gables, president of the Dade County Council, install officers on the north and south boards. Sharon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Finney, 1560 San Rafael Ave. Serving with her on the Lanoecassana (South Dade) Board will be Billie Stultz, 9455 Haitian Dr., Cutler Ridge, as vice president; Janis Findeison, 1200 Coral Way; secretary. Barbara Wukas, 16 Santillane Ave., treasurer; Judy Somerindyke, 2255 SW 25th Ter., public relations; and Greer Woodward, 2169 SW 24th St., parliamentarian. Aided by a representative from each senior troop, the North and South Boards are responsible for planning all council-wide activities for senior scouts. SHARON FINNEY ... Scout honor
