Mr. and Mrs. Charles Angelus of 1540 Delgado Ave. are the new parents of a baby girl born May 6, and weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. John Bennett, son and daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. James Bennett of 2601 DeSoto Blvd., are taking a 28 day trip around the world. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shecter of 1532 Dorado Ave. are the parents of a new baby boy, born April 29. The baby was named Harry Richard and he weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. Bess Ferrell from Kingswood, W. Va., has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Craig of 3304 Durango St. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. Robert Sims and daughter Kelly are visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. William C. Kirkpatrick of 3715 Durango St. Mrs. Sims is the wife of Lieutenant Sims who is in a remote section of Alaska for the remainder of his time in the service. ★ ★ ★ Roger Kirkpatrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Kirkpatrick, has been accepted at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he will be in his junior year. He was formally a student at University of Miami. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. William Kohler from Yonkers, N.Y., are spending a month with their daughter Mrs. Kenneth J. Cole of 3801 Durango St. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. William Crayton Walters, Jr. and son are visiting Mrs. Walter's parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Piowaty of 3925 Durango St., and Mrs. Piowaty's mother, Mrs. Edmund Garrity, Sr. is returning to Chicago after spending a month here with her daughter and son-in-law. Jo-Anne Stenger, a freshman at the University of Georgia, will be home this month for the summer vacation. Jo-Anne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel G. Stenger of 1235 El Rado St. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Roger Edward of 1222 Ferdinand St., attended a luau in Craig, Fla., recently at Mayor Layton's home. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Mac Forrester from Jacksonville were guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Cater, 1820 Ferdinand St. Mrs. Forrester was the former Betty Dawson and she and her husband were here for the Camarilla Dance at the Riviera Club. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Julian Lloyd from Detroit will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Jahnig of 429 Fluvia Ave. ★ ★ ★ Two local students attending Emory University have been awarded membership in Alpha Epsilon Upsilon, lower division honorary scholastic society recognizing excellent scholastic work of the first two years in college. Anthony Frilingos, 536 Bird Rd., and Suzanne Davis, 915 Placetas Ave., were the recipients. ★ ★ ★ The Rev. and Mrs. George J. DeWitt, 301 Manor Place, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary May 10. Reverend DeWitt is associate minister of the First Prsbyterian Church of Coral Gables. ★ ★ ★ Dr. and Mrs. Hugh Mathews are the guests of Dr. and Mrs John H. Hanger of 2901 Granada Blvd. Dr. and Mrs. Hanger had a dinner party at their home and their guests were Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Ira, Dr. and Mrs. W. M. Patterson Jr., all here from Jacksonville to attend the Florida Medical Association Convention at the Americana Hotel.
