Charles Lea Hume, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. L. Hume, 512 Almeria Ave., returned recently to The Citadel where he is a junior. He is majoring in English with a possibility of studying law after graduation. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nadler and baby Linda, from Chicago, were the house guests of Dr. and Mrs. Max Tendrich, 4000 Granada Blvd. Mr. Nadler is Mrs. Tendrich's brother. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Swiren of 4405 Granada Blvd. will have a party at their home, June 10, in the honor of Mrs. Swiren's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Rubin, who will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. ★ ★ ★ Miss Lana Ropes, daughter of Mrs. Ronald S. Roberts of 5627 Granada Blvd., will graduate from Coral Gables High School in June. In September, Miss Ropes will enter Stevens College in Columbia, Mo. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. Robert Henderson of 733 Santander Ave. was initiated last Sunday as a patronness of the Sigma Alpha Iota professional music fraternity for women. Mrs. Henderson has guests from Palm Beach, Mrs. M. Lennard and Mrs. J. R. Gardener. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. M. G. Byrne of Chicago, who has just returned from a trip around the world, is visiting Mrs. Charles O. Frary of 1104 Country Club Prado. Mrs. Frary had a luncheon at the Coral Gables Country Club for her granddaughter, Mrs. Jack Stewart. Mrs. Stewart will join her husband, who is based with the Marines in South Carolina, shortly.

Miss Cronin Is Party Honoree

Miss Mary Ann Coomes and Miss Denise Benoist were co-hostesses Saturday in a bridal shower for Miss Dorothy Cronin, held in the Coach Room of the English Pub, Key Biscayne. Covers were laid for 22 guests. Miss Cronin will marry Charles Sacher June 16.
