William Harris Rites

William E. Harris Sr., 73, formerly of 88 Alemeria Ave., died May 5 of a heart attack at his son's home in Chicora, Pa. He was convalescing following an operation. Mr. Harris had lived here 13 years. Surviving are a son, William Jr. of Chicora; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Snitzer of Rumson, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Payette of Babylon, L.I., N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Francis Dolan, Retired Lawyer

Francis M. Dolan, whose home at 4501 Granada Blvd. was the sixth built in the city died Sunday. Requiem mass was said yesterday (Wednesday) at the Church of the Little Flower. Mr. Dolan was a founder of the Coral Gables Country Club and the Century Club, and was active on the Committee of 100. An attorney, he specialized in labor affairs for the Federal government, spending much of his time in Minneapolis and New York before his retirement. Local survivors include his wife, Luella M. Dolan, and a brother, Walter J. Dolan.

Ira H. Sams, From Kentucky

Ira H. Sams Sr., 85, died Monday at his residence, 224 Madeira Ave. Mr. Sams, a retired carpenter, came to the Gables 14 years ago from Paducah, Ky. He and his wife, Ada, would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary May 23. Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. John A. Allen of Kendall, Mrs. Ruth Shouse of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Harry J. Faust Sr. of Coral Gables; a son, I. H. Sams Jr. of Paducah; and two grandchildren. Mr. Sams was a member of the Carpenter's Union in Kentucky and University Baptist Church. Funeral was held Wednesday at Philbrick's Chapel with Dr. Rupert Coleman of University Baptist officiating. Burial took place at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery.

Notice is hereby given by the City of Coral Gables, Florida that sealed bids will be received in the office of the City Clerk on or before 3:00 o'clock P.M.
