Volpes Tour Mexico; To Settle In Ohio
The Church of the Little Flower, Coral Gables was the setting Saturday, June 9 for the wedding of the former Miss Joanne Alicia Polizzi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Polizzi, of 6857 Granada Blvd., and James J. Volpe, son of Mrs. James Volpe of Cleveland, and the late Mr. Volpe. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of Brussels hand-woven lace designed with bell-shaped skirt, scoop neckline, point-in-hand sleeves and chapel train of silk peau de soie in candlelight shade. A matching lace headpiece held her bouffant veil and she carried a cascade of phalaenopsis orchids with valley lilies. Miss Rosemary Mangine was honor maid and bridesmaids were Miss Dierdre Garty and Miss Joan Rozum. They wore identical floor length sheaths of spring green chiffon. They carried cascades of yellow cumbidium orchids and yellow stephanotis. Nieces of the bride and groom, Cheryl Polizzi and Karen Bird as junior bridesmaids wore white silk organza over pale yellow taffeta, and carried baskets of rose petals. Paul Volpe was best man for his brother. Ushers were Angelo Schiaveni, Nick Tanno and Nick Polizzi. Fr. Peter Reilly officiated at the 10 a.m. ceremony and the reception and dinner followed at 6 p.m. at the Dupont Plaza Hotel. After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Mentor, Ohio. The bride is a graduate of Coral Gables High School and attended the University of Miami. The groom, a graduate of Benedictine High School, attended John Carroll University, Cleveland, Ohio. He is in business in Mentor, Ohio as a general contractor. Mrs. James Volpe
Wedding Scheduled In Canada
Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Stevenson, 4111 University Dr., announce the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia Mary to 2nd Lt. Carl G. Morrison Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Morrison 1001 South Alhambra Circle. The wedding will take place August 10 in Christ Church, Deer Park, Toronto, Can. The bride-elect is a graduate of the Bishop Strachan High School, Toronto, and the University of Western Ontario, London Ont., where she majored in history. Her fiance was graduated from Ruston Academy, Havana, attended the United States Naval Academy and is presently in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Valdosta, Ga.

Mrs. Laura Gerardino, of 541 Minorca Ave., is leaving for Paris sailing on the Constitution out of New York. In Paris she plans to meet Mrs. Beatrice Charpentier of Miami. They will visit with Vickey Autier, who is known as the "Nat King Cole" of Paris. Then they go to Madrid, visit the Riviera and pause in Rome where they will visit Mrs. Gerardino's daughter, Ilka who is studying music there. Dr. Frank A. Mathes of Granada Presbyterian Church and his family are in Chicago today on the start of their summer vacation. Dr. Mathes and his family are visiting his mother in The Windy City. They'll spend a few days in North Carolina before returning to the Gables the first week of July.
