MISS CROWE

Miss Crowe Engaged To Minister

Dr. and Mrs. William Crowe Jr., of Roswell, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Alice, to the Rev. Claude Ivan Allen Jr., of 928 Bird Rd. No date has been set for the wedding but September nuptials are planned and will take place at the Roswell Presbyterian Church of which her father is pastor. The bride-elect recently returned from abroad where she studied in London after having attended Belhaven College in Jackson, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Crowe, of Talladega, Ala., where her grandfather is pastor-emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church. Her fiance, an assistant pastor of the Granada Presbyterian Church is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ivan Allen, of Gainesville. He holds a degree of Bachelor of Divinity from Columbia Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Decatur, Ga. He was also graduated from the University of Florida where he was a member of Sigma Chi social fraternity and the Florida Blue Key.

Buells to Live on Red Road

On a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, Haiti, Nassau and Boulder Dam, are Mr. and Mrs. Jon Alfred Buell following their wedding Saturday at the First Baptist Church of South Miami. The bride, the former Sandra Lou Wheat, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Shea, of 6401 Mitchell Manor Circle. The groom, of 5620 Red Road, Coral Gables, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred L. Buell of Sarasota. Given in marriage by her brother, Robert E. Wheat, the bride wore a floor length gown of white organza and lace with chapel train. Her bouffant veil fell from a crown of pearls and sequins and she carried white roses and lily of the valley bouquet. HONOR MAID Miss Joan Reinemund was honor maid, and Mrs. Janice Harris, sister of the groom, Miss Marie H. Shea and Miss Suzan D. Spaulding, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns of aqua organza and carried yellow roses and carnations. Julius Fernandez was best man. Ushers were Jon Braun, James Crosby and Steve Reinemund. The Rev. J. Roy Crosby of the Sarasota Baptist Church, officiated at the 3:30 p.m. double ring ceremony and the reception was held in the church Fellowship Hall. Mother of the bride wore a pink shantung and alencon lace gown and white orchids. Mother of the groom was in beige alencon lace and silk ensemble and wore pink roses. TO LIVE ON RED ROAD After their honeymoon trip by air, the couple will summer in Mound, Minn., returning here in September and will reside at 5620 Red Road. The bride attended school in Coral Gables, was graduated from Hampden DuBose Academy, Orlando, and is a sophomore at the University of Miami. The groom attended the Sarasota Schools and is a graduate of the University of Miami. MRS. JON BUELL

Miss Day, Hopps, Engaged

Judith Marie Day, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evelyn Moran Day of 537 Alcazar Ave., and the late Mr. Day, announces the engagement of her daughter to Gordon Lee Hopps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton L. Hopps, of 40 Salamanca Ave. While no date has been set, a fall wedding is planned by the couple. The bride-elect graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended Florida State University.

A STORK'S 'HELLO'

Storks enact a strange greeting ritual when a mate returns to the nest, the National Geographic Magazine says. The waiting bird noisily rattles its big red bill and throws its head forward in a stiff, formal bow. The returning stork clatters its bill. The duet builds to a climax of bowing, head throwing, tail shaking and pirouetting with half-open wings.

Riviera Golfers Go Visiting

Riviera Country Club Women's Golf Association played the Doral Country Club golf grounds, Tuesday and raved about it and the new country club. The tournament was low net played in classes. Mrs. George Farrell won in Classs A with a 77. In a tie for second with a 79 were Mrs. Carl Blohm and Mrs. Sheldon Woodward. In Class B, Mrs. Dave Schriner won with a 73. Mrs. Ben Costello was second with a 78. There was a tie in Class C with Mrs. Robert Foreman and Mrs. D. A. Marion shooting an 85.
