COCO PLUM & CORAL GABLES WOMEN

2 Clubs Honor Presidents

Coco Plum Gives Prexy Loving Cup

Coco Plum Woman's Club honored its president, Mrs. James R. Davant, with an informal luncheon yesterday (Wednesday) at the clubhouse. Since this is Mrs. Davant's second year as president, a formal reception was not given. A humorous skit depicting "The Necessary Ingredients of a Good Club President" was moderated by Mrs. Bette J. Nicholls. Mrs. Victor P. Griley wrote the skit, which was given at the general federation spring meeting this year. The president is pictured as having a well-rounded wardrobe, being an efficient homemaker and having a good ear for telephone conversation. At the conclusion of the performance, Mrs. Davant was presented with a loving cup. In addition to the president, others in the receiving line included Mrs. Hugh E. Gingras, 1st vice president; Mrs. F. X. James O'Brien, 2nd vice president; Mrs. John L. Morris, recording secretary; Mrs. E. Alexander Martin, corresponding secretary. Mrs. William E. Laesch, treasurer; and two guests, Mrs. J. Barco Bishop, president of Dade County Federation, and Mrs. S. Kenneth Stanleigh, director of District 11.

Mrs. Worley Feted

A reception was given Monday afternoon by the Coral Gables Woman's Club in honor of its president, Mrs. John H. Worley, at the clubhouse. Included in the receiving line with Mrs. Worley were Mrs. Lloyd Rees, 1st vice president; Mrs. Gene F. Gabriel, 2nd vice president; Mrs. C. W. Dabney, recording secretary; Mrs. S. A. Dansyear, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Franklin Evans, financial secretary; and Mrs. Arthur Darlow, treasurer. The board of directors plus representatives of the Dade County Federation of Woman's Clubs, Florida Federation and the General Federation were also included as well as Mrs. Joseph C. Pereno Jr., president of the Coral Gables Junior Woman's Club.

READY FOR POURING

COCO PLUM WOMAN'S Club held a different kind of a reception yesterday (Wednesday) for President Rita Davant. Three players in a skit, left to right, are Mrs. S. L. Kendrick Jr., whose bike and helmet show punctuality; Mrs. William Robert Suter, showing versatility; and Mrs. Kenneth H. Burner, who indicates getting the vote.

THIS HEIRLOOM FIGURINE, which has been in Mrs. Lloyd Rees' family for more than 100 years, was a beautiful center piece for the refreshment table at the president's reception of the Coral Gables Woman's Club.
