'ROUND TOWN

june gray woman's editor Decent Literature Council is taking steps to better inform its members of more effective means of combating the distribution of pornographic literature. They have purchased the film, "Pages of Death," which is based on an actual case history taken from the Los Angeles police files, and it will be available for showing to their member clubs. It will also be available for rental to any other organization. The group did not decide to purchase the film until after a preview showing Thursday of last week at the Coral Gables Woman's Club to determine its merits. Retired people are finding the leisure life which they spent years working for too boring to suit their active tastes. Madame Ludwig, who gave up teaching ballet two years ago, is going to teach a class each Saturday morning at Rona Byron School of Dance, 132 Minorca Ave. She became a royal pupil at the age of five of the Kaiser's Imperial Ballet in Berlin where she remained until she was 17. At the age of seven, she made her debut in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Royal Opera. She and her mother came to America to visit Madame Ludwig's sister when she was 17, and they did not return after World War I began. "I was in Germany three years ago, but I did not visit Berlin because I could not bear to see the city divided," Madame said. Madame, who in everyday life is Mrs. Carl Nentwig of 7111 SW 64th Ct., danced for 10 years with the Chicago Grand Opera before coming to Miami in 1944. Margaret and Oscar C. "Chris" Christianson have been busy redecorating his home at 422 Catalonia since their private wedding Sept. 29 at the First Presbyterian Chapel. Dr. Clyde Myers, pastor, officiated. Painters, decorators and carpenters have kept us busy running in and out," Mrs. Christianson said. "Later we will have open house because all our friends have really rolled out the "red carpet" for us. "We never realized so many people were interested in our happiness. We have been having so much fun doing things together that we have been rather indifferent to other people. "Chris commented the other day," Mrs. Christianson recalled, "it seems that we have done so many things we should have been married six months. If this keeps up you are going to make both a Democrat and a Republican out of me." Since the couple could not make the necessary arrangements for a trip at the present time, they are making plans for one later. Congratulations to the Coral Gables Woman's Club for being chosen by the Miami Public Library and Epsilon Sigma Omicron, national sorority of clubwomen, to give the first of series of book reviews over Channel 10 TV. Mrs. Lloyd Rees, 1418 Cecilia, 1st vice president of Coral Gables Woman's Club will review "Dearly Beloved" by Anne Morrow Lindbergh at 8:15 a.m. next Monday. "Witch's Brew" will be served to members of the Coral Gables Junior Woman's Club and their husbands at their Halloween cocktail party for who-o-o Saturday night at the home of Mary Nelle and Jerry Dressel, 3417 Alhambra Cir.
