Lion's Auxiliary is having a pre-rummage sale today, Nov. 29 at the home of Mrs. Raymond T. Anderson, 3411 Granada Blvd.
Gableite Owen Freed will be in Nassau Tuesday to address that city's Rotary Club in conjunction with a joint meeting of the Nassau and Allapattah Rotary Clubs.
Wini Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Wallace, 910 Algarino Ave., and Carol Hagglund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Hagglund, 1136 Andora Ave., recently pledged the Tau Gamma Chapter of Chi Omega, Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio.
Mary Bell Trout received her "Queen Regent's " cape at Sunday evening services at University Baptist Church. She is being recognized for her work in the Girl's Auxiliary in the "Forward Steps" program. The girls have projects to help missions, and to learn things which help them as adults. A junior at Coral Gables High, Mary Bell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Trout, 1403 Madrid St.
Tickets are now available for the Mardi Gras Dinner Dance sponsored by the Medical Faculty Wives. The event will be held Feb. 28 at the Dupont Plaza. The money raised will go into the University of Miami Medical School Student Loan fund. The federal government matches the money raised on a nine to one basis.
Marine Corp. Ralph H. Quinn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart H. Quinn, 1261 Dickinson Dr., University of Miami, was promoted to his present rank recently while serving at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.
Riviera Golf.
Point contest was the play Tuesday for the Riviera Women's Golf Association. Mrs. Robert Hanna and Mrs. William Brickell, tied for first place in Class A with 33. Mrs. George Farrell was second with 31. In Class B Mrs. Reginald Williams was first with 34; Mrs. John Campbell, second, 30. First in Class C was Mrs. Phil Lawrence with 34; Mrs. Frank Callahan, second, 33.
AIRMAN HALSEY
Airman Third Class Robert E. Halsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay O. Halsey, 1221 San Miguel, is being reassigned to McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., for training and duty as a heating specialist. He is a 1962 graduate of Miami Senior High School.
St. Theresa Home and School Association is having a Christmas novelties fair Friday, Dec. 7, beginning at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Many handmade articles will be among the items sold to raise money for cafeteria improvements and visual education equipment.
MRS. A. C. Baker, 4699 Ponce de Leon Blvd., won a color TV set for her answers in a historical contest sponsored by Chase Federal Savings.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Phillips Sr., 1240 Castile, returned home Monday from Pensacola, N.C. They have been living there in their summer cottage since June. Keith Jr., who spent three days there week before last said the temperature was 22 degrees and when he went out on the front porch, he wondered why the "damn Yankees" insisted on living in the North.
Marine Pvt: William C. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curry J. Bassett, 1118 Ferdinand St., completed recruit training Nov. 20 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Harrison, and daughter Jane, 4120 University Dr., are back home after an extended visit in Washington, D.C., where the Harrison boys, Mike and Bob, are enrolled in their first year of Georgetown Prep. Mike's a sophomore and Bob a freshman. Mrs. Harrison reports that the boys "just love it" at Georgetown and were delighted when they got an extra holiday for the school's soccer team going undefeated. The Harrisons (he's an attorney), came here about eight years ago from New York. There's no relation to the historical figure of the same name.

Army 2nd Lt. Arthur P. Bein Jr., whose parents live at 1431 Trillo Ave., recently completed the eight-week field artillery officer orientation course at The Artillery and Missile Center, Fort Sill, Okla. The 21-year-old officer is a 1958 graduate of Coral Gables High School and a 1962 graduate of the University of Miami where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and the Scabbard and Blade Society.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Seipp, 431 Villabella Ave., turned their home into a dormitory last weekend when their son Philip came home for Thanksgiving vacation bringing three Lambda Chi Alpha brothers with him from Stetson University. Philip and two of his visitors, Bob Kimball, Arlington, Va.; and Tim Thompson, Pennsylvania, are freshman pledges, Michel Upp from Indiana is an upperclassman. The Seipps' daughter, Dottie Jane, an airline stewardess based in Atlanta, could not make it home, but called the family as they were sitting down to dinner.
Gary C. Fondren and his wife Angela of Coconut Grove are busy caring for their first child, a girl, Kim, born Nov. 10 and weighing eight and three-fourth pounds. The name was given by the mother, who is from England, and it was also noted in the English papers that only a few hours difference separated the deliveries of Angela and her sister, who gave birth to a boy. Gary is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Courtney Fondren, 614 Altara Ave. This is their first grandchild.
Mrs. Meyer A. Baskin, 1819 Ferdinand Ave., has been named program chairman of the general membership tea sponsored by the Woman's Division of Technion at 1 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Algiers Hotel. Three hundred members are expected.
