TRAVEL REPORTER By Bill Mason

QUESTION: Is going first-class on a boat or plane always the best way? ANSWER: Not necessarily! Service and accomodations are best in first class, but cabin or tourist class may be the answer to your travel budget. HIGHLAND 8-2646 TRAVEL INC. 2700 PONCE DE LEON BLVD. A Man's International Flight Wardrobe

"There is quite a bit of Information around on how to pack for international travel within the 44-pound tourist and economy weight limit, but perhaps because passport statistics show that more women than men are traveling the past few years, most of the information is directed toward the feminine sex. The men have been getting short shrift, and their problem is quite as urgent. Men's suits and men's shoes tend to weigh more than dresses and strip sandals," Bill Mason of Travel Inc. said. Before thinking of what is to go in the bag — choose the right bag. The American luggage industry has been catching up with the jet age. There is a wide variety of lightweight pieces generally available now. Canvas, plastic and aluminum are all practical choices. For the larger piece which will ride in the baggage compartment, choose a size and shape that will take slacks and jackets with only one fold. Take a small overnight case into the plane with you. Many airlines supply these. Into it will go toilet articles, an extra handkerchief, folding slippers and a sweater. It's a convenient bag for short side trips off your main itinerary, also. Anything that you are happy wearing in one of the new miracle synthetics that dry overnight, by all means take. This includes underwear, socks and pajamas. Shirts may be another story. There is nothing that will ever replace the look of a well-ironed broadcloth. Laundry service in most cities throughout the globe is excellent, with 24 to 72-hour service. If your plans call for more than a two-day stay in most places, by all means take broadcloth with one drip-dry for emergencies. On faster-moving schedules, three drip-dry shirts will amply cover all situations. BILL MASON
