Advertising was not born on Madison Avenue...or at Five-Points, either. It started with the first man who caught, grew or made anything in excess of his own needs, the first man who called upon a specialist to help him create sales. Advertising has a tremendous responsibility in our economy. It brings new products to those who need them and, in so doing, raises their standard of living. It permits people to do the things that they do best, increases the volume of business they do...and lowers the cost to the consumer. It encourages healthy competition, resulting in better products. Advertising has come a long way from its dinosaur days...to the present era of the advertising agency with its skilled, trained professionals, modern equipment and specialized departments for Art, Copy, Radio, TV, Photography, Marketing, Research, Media, Production and Public Relations...all working together to tell the full product story. Yes, advertising has been around for a long time. We suspect it will be around lots longer.
