Rings Exchanged In Pourbaix Nuptials

Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Pocepowich of 5040 Southwest 98th Ct., are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Patricia Ann, to Adhemar Pourbaix, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Adhemar Pourbaix, 9280 SW 106th St., which took place Saturday at the Church of the Little Flower. Given in marriage by her father, the blonde bride wore a floor length bridal gown of Cullars lace arranged in three wide bouffant tiers. The bodice had a Sabrina neckline etched in seed pearls and sequins and long point-on-hand sleeves. An elegant veil of imported French silk illusion trailed in back, forming a train for her gown. The full veil was held in place by a Queen's crown of pearls and crystal crystals highlighted each point of the crown. She carried a white prayer book covered with an orchid and small rosebuds streamers. Miss Michaeleen Skirchak of South Miami was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Patricia Miller and Miss Charle Kurdzel of Miami. Miss Beverly Pocepowich was flower girl. All attendants wore identical gowns of aqua chiffon over taffeta made ballerina length. They carried cascade bouquest of yellow carnations. Alfred Pourbaix, brother of the groom was best man. Ushers were John Pocepowich, Donald Sarles, Jerry Schmidt and Richard Ackerly. Richard Pocepowich, brother of the bride, was altar boy. The Rev. Louis C. Roberts officiated at the double ring, 10 a.m. nuptials. The reception followed at the Coral Gables Elks Club. Bride's Mother For her daughter's wedding, the bride's mother wor a sapphire blue gown of lace and silk organza with matching accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mother of the groom wore a gown of Chantilly lace over pastel satin with beige accessories and a white orchid corsage. The bride attended schools in Worchester, Mass, She is a graduate of Southwest High School. The groom is a graduate of West Miami Junior High School and of Southwest Miami High School. Following their wedding trip the couple will reside at 7501 SW 99th Ct.

Gables Music Club To Fete President

Dr. Bertha Foster will be mistress of ceremonies, and Mrs. Raymond M. Jenkins will be chairman of the Coral Gables Music Club's reception for its president, Mrs. George M. Corrigan. The event will take place at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Coral Gables Woman's Club. Dr. Fabian Sevitzky, conductor of the University of Miami Symphony Orchestra, will be the honor guest. Mrs. W. Hunt is chairman of program. Kathryn Haynes, pianist, will play "Valse Brillante" by Chopin, Lynne Crusan, mezzosoprano, will sing "Magda's Aria" from "The Consul" by Menotti, also "Die Meinacht," by Brahms. Carolyn Haynes, pianist, will present "Berceuse" by Chopin, and Paul Marino, baritone, will sing, the prologue from Pagliacci. Lina Maddaford will be the accompanist. This will be the club's 12th annual reception for its president. It was founded in 1939. The club also sponsors a Junior Music Club made up of pupils between the ages of 6 and 18 years. This group meets during the school year on the first Tuesday of each month, November through June, at the Woman's Club Building. A recital is given each month with three judges in attendance. New members in the senior club include Mrs. Fincher, Mrs. James Russel Walsh, Mrs. Lolia Woodward Hall, Mrs. George Merrick and reinstated, Mrs. Henry Clay Anderson. Mrs. CORRIGAN

Sorority Hears Tips On Charm

Members and guests of Alpha Mu chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority enjoyed an immensely interesting program Thursday, November 3, at the Coral Gables Coliseum, 1500 Douglas Road. As guest speaker, Miss Vi Walker, president of a local academy of modeling spoke on "How to be a more charming you" Miss Catherine Gunning, 6540 S. W. 16th St., Alpha Mu's educational chairman, who is responsible for the chapter's guest speakers, was unable to attend the meeting. She was in the hospital with two broken ribs.

Trip To Australia Will Be Topic

The Nov. 16 luncheon meeting of the Lady Alice Needham Bryan Chapter, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, will be held at 12:30 at the Riviera Country Club. Mrs. Henry O. Shaw, President will preside. There will be a board meeting at 11:30 a.m. Proposed by law changes will be presented to the members and Mrs. Shaw will speak of her recent trip to Australia and New Zealand.
