HER MAJESTY... QUEEN SARA LYNN THOMPSON A future Cub Scout den mother is reigning over this week's Homecoming celebration at the University of Miami. Sara Lynn Thompson, 21, senior sociology major from Shawnee-Mission, Kan. was awarded the honor over more than a hundred other coed entrants. She will be seen in tonight's Homecoming Parade through Coral Gables, riding her imperial float, with her four princesses: Judy Eaken, Jo Ann Pflug, Amelia Harrell and Yvonne Dardenne. Sara Lynn might be described as the movie director's ideal of the "girl-next-door" type. She's blond, blue-eyed, not too tall or too short and captivates with her smile. She has a "B+" average at UM, but after graduation wants nothing more than a taste of the public relations work for which she has trained. "I don't want to be a career woman," she said. "One of my ambitions is to be a Cub Scout den mother." Active in UM extracurricular activities, Sara Lynn is a member of Delta Gamma sorority, two academic honoraries and the Association of Women Students Board of Review. Gracing another portion of the Queen's float in tonight's parade will be her princess from the senior class, Judy Eaken. When the men of the Air Force ROTC march, they may often think of Judy. She is national commander of Angel Flight, AFROTC's coed auxiliary. Her brown eyes are set on the clouds above the future fly-boys however. She intends to be a meteorologist. The Alabama-born geography major is 20. Jo Ann Pflug, 20, beter known to local grade schoolers as "Miss Jo Ann" is the junior class's princess. She is the story- teller on the U.M. "Magic Carpet" radio series. A native of Winter Park, Jo Ann is a tall, brown-haired, member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. The sophomore class has contributed blonde, Amelia Harrell, 19, to the court. A featured twirler in UM's Hurricanettes, she toured Europe and the U.S. this summer teaching baton techigues. Amelia also holds the title of "Miss Pan America." She is from Prescott, Ark. Out of the largest freshman class in UM's history, Yvonne Dardenne, 18, has emerged as its homecoming princess. Currently appearing in the Ring Theater play "The Mischief Maker," she comes from St. Petersburg. A drama major, she hopes for a professional continuation of her college acting career. Queen Sara Lynn and her court will preside over both tonight's parade and Saturday's football clash against Notre Dame, the concluding event in UM's Homecoming Week. BI winning over Florida State 25-7, University of Miami brought its 1960 football record to a 4-2, best since 1956 for six games. Last year, Miami was 3-3 at this stage, 1-5 in 1958 and 3-2-1 in 1957.

University of Miami broke a homecoming football jinx last year by winning over South Carolina after losing three home-coming tilts in a row. Miami's next game, with Notre Dame Saturday night, is the 1960 Homecoming tilt.

Homecoming Law Breakfast

Asst. U. S. Attorney General Robert A. Bicks will be the featured speaker at the 17th annual University of Miami Law School Homecoming Breakfast at 9:30 A.M. Saturday. The Sky Room of the Dupont Plaza Center Hotel will be the gathering place for some 900 barrister alumni and their guests, including of the bench and state officials. Bicks' special field is antitrust procedure. "Year after year, this is the best alumni-attended event of Homecoming Week," said Ray E. Marchman Jr., chairman of this year's breakfast.
