King James may not have seen it this way, but it's every bit as entertaining
By KAY SEVERINSEN Staff Writer When you are only five years old, the world can be a crazy place. The Times/Guide asked six children at St. Albans Day Nursery in Coral Gables to tell us the Christmas story, and they gave us this slightly lopsided version of the first Christmas: Two people, named Momma and Daddy, knew a baby was about to fall from a cloud where he lived with God and Santa Claus, so they drove downtown on a horse to catch him. Mary and Joseph were friends and they came along, too. Angela Anderson said they went because their own house was too dirty for a baby. Michele Franco said there were too many people in Momma and Daddy's house and they wanted a place for Jesus to sleep. "Then Jesus was born in a little house where there was rock and roll music," said Coery Hodges. You may have never heard that version before, but all six children agreed that it was true. Coery emphasized that although Jesus had to drink out of a bottle then, pretty soon he was all grown up and he became a man and didn't have to drink no bottle." The little house where Jesus was born, was a pretty wild place, according to the children.
