Open house and dedication of the new pool at the Coral Gables Country Club is Saturday evening. It was set for last Saturday. The pool will open at 10 a.m. and the open house take place the same evening. A buffet dinner from 7 to 9 p.m. will be followed at 9 p.m. with a pool show, then dancing intil 11 p.m. ★ ★ ★ Dr. Bertha Foster, founder of the Musicians Club of America, is taking a breather in North Carolina. She motored up and will be away about three weeks. Mrs. Harry Nolan, resident of the club, met Mrs. Nora Comerford, also a resident, in Whittier, Calif., where both boarded a jet for the trip home, just five hours. Does any one remember the popular song "Nola"? The lady for whom it was written and to whom it was dedicated (at the time of her engagement) Mrs. Nola Arndt of New York, spent a recent month at the Musicians Club. ★ ★ ★ THE CAFIEROS Two Gables couples, neighbors, sailed from New York on a 13-day cruise to Curacao, Caracas, Kingston and Port-au-Prince on the Santa Rosa. They are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred C. Cafiero, 6811 Altamira St., and Mr. and Mrs. Lou Altwell, 6820 Altamira St. THE ALLWELLS ★ ★ ★ Dorothy Plowaty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Plowaty, 3925 Durango St., will enter Christian College, Columbia, Mo. The college, oldest chartered woman's college west of the Mississippi, will open its 111th fall term on Sept. 21. ★ ★ ★ "It isn't a party; it's a meeting and we're going to talk fiances," said Lois Evans of 3822 Toledo St. She was hostess recently for the members of the alumnae chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Esther Parson, made the sandwiches. Lois resides with her sister, Daisy (Mrs. William) Wisdom, who is a first grade teacher at the Coconut Grove Elementary School. Lois is also with the Board of Education, head of the attendance records. "Money and Marriage" will be the topic Wednesday when Walter B. Wilson, member of the American Association of Marriage Counsellors, speaks to the members of the Pilot Club of Coral Gables, at 7 p.m., Coral Gables Country Club. ★ ★ ★ Helen and Harry Rath will finish their eighth trip to the far West, after a week in Boulder, Colo. Rath, principal of Coral Gables High School, was a (educational) delegate for four days in French Lick Springs, Ind., and spent three days in San Francisco. Helen reports the drought has been terrible in parts of the West for three years, while in Colorado, they had more rain than usual.
