'Moody's' Available For Investors, Businessmen
The Coral Gables Library announces a new arrival: "Moody's Investment Service." The manuals are available in the reference division. This service includes a manual and twice-weekly news report for each of five different fields: Industrial; Public Utilities; Municipal and Government; Banks and Finance; and Transportation. Together, these volumes give comprehensive financial data on over 33,000 corporations and agencies. Also included are two other important services constantly used by businessmen and other investors: "Moody's Stock and Bond Survey" and the "Handbook of Widely Held Common Stocks." The twice-weekly publication of the reports ensures coverage almost as current as a daily newspaper, says Reference Librarian Evelyn Duncan. In 1952 one American in sixteen owned stock; in 1959 the number was one in eight. With more than a million new stockholders every year, services such as Moody's are coming to play a more and more important role in American life, says Mrs. Duncan.
