Goldmans To Note 50th
There will be a two-day celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Israel E. Goldman, 44 Palermo Ave., who will mark their golden wedding anniversary tomorrow (Friday). Friday the Oneg Shabbat will be observed in Suniland Hall, and at the Sabbath Service Saturday 10:30 a.m. Temple Beth Shirah, 11289 South Dixie Hwy. Rabbi Morris A. Skop will invoke the special prayer at the Sacred Ark with Cantor Herman K. Gottlieb and the choir assisting. A buffet dinner and Goldman tribute will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in Suniland Hall under the auspices of the Temple honoring the Goldmans for service in many American and Jewish causes. Rabbi Skop will speak on the theme, "Fifty Years of Memory and Hope," The Goldmans came to Miami from Rochester, N.Y.

25 YEARS AGO Commissioner Paul D. McGarry was chosen head of the Coral Gables committee to plan the local celebration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Birthday Ball" which is to be held Jan. 30. Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce broadcasted an appeal to Gableites for additional donations for the Greater Miami Empty Stocking Fund drive which fell $3,000 below its goal. 10 YEARS AGO Happy Coral Gables merchants reported that Christmas volume was up 10 to 25 per cent from the 1950 figures. Sandy Wirth was chosen first Junior Orange Bowl Queen sponsored by the Retail Merchants of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. 1 YEAR AGO For the second time in two weeks, robbers snatched five figures from the nativity scene in front of the Coral Gables City Hall. This was the week construction was begun to widen San Amaro at the University of Miami to four lanes at an approximate cost of $130,000. Robin Lee Krug was chosen ninth annual Junior Orange Bowl Queen.

Club Plans Yule Dance For Children
The Junior High Board of the Coral Gables Country Club will hold a Christmas dance next Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. The dance, with music by Ginger Johnson and her orchestra, is for the 600 7th to 9th grade children of youngsters of Country Club members. Board members working on the dance are Linda Seymour, 1426 Siena Ave.; Sue Copp, 1434 Obispo Ave.; Ann Kistler, 1540 San Remo Ave.; Ricki Langhorst, 1020 Placetas Ave. Jock Mills, 226 Velarde Ave.; John Akerman, 813 Sistina Ave.; Jane Ann Knowles, 1240 Mariola Ct.; Donna Graham, 65 Morningside Dr.; and Chuck Dressel, 1300 Country Club Prado.
