Kiwanis Asks Probe of State Dept.

An investigation of the U.S. State Department "to determine the cause of its failures" has been asked by the Kiwanis Club of Coral Gables. The local club is asking Congress to conduct the investigation and the aid of the President in removing from office persons responsible for those failures. In a five-point resolution, the Kiwanis Board of Directors states that: 1. That the Department of State, irrespective of the persons or party in power, has failed to evaluate with intelligence and to act with firmness and courage in many areas vital to the security of the people and the continued existence of the United States of America as a free nation. 2. That our country is engaged in a life and death struggle with Russian International Communism. 3. That our enemy has openly avowed her intention of destroying the United States of America and conquering the world. 4. That the strategy and policy in this undeclared war are being determined primarily by our Department of State. 5. That although we appreciate the stand taken by the Department of State in handling of the Berlin situation, we do urge continued similar clear and firm positions in our relationships with other governments.
