Life Is Joy—ful For Sandy and Pal / Shop 1 Meal at a Time / These Gals Value The Independence
Life Is Joy—ful For Sandy and Pal THESE SCHOOL MARMS SHARE COOKING CHORES CHESS ON THE LIVING ROOM FLOOR THAT'S SANDY (LEFT) AND JOY IN PENSIVE MOOD Shop 1 Meal at a Time These Gals Value The Independence Meet Sandy Intermont, 23, and Joy Valante, 24, two pretty school teachers who find life full of fun as they share an apartment at 37 Salamanca Ave. High school friends in Belleville, N.J., they liked what they read about Dade County's school system. Last August, they packed, got into their 1960 Falcon and here they are. Both teach at Everglades Elementary School. Sandy and Joy say they cherish most their independence. They shop for bargains, buy only what they need for that night's dinner. They share cooking and household duties, prefer double-dating, love the theater, long walks, picking sea shells at the beach and chess. Both attend University of Miami classes. Sandy takes a psychology course in "personality" ("So I can analyze Joy. She talks in her sleep.") Joy studies Spanish.
