Beverley, Cherry, Crowley, Neill, Miller Added to Chamber Board

Five new directors have been elected to three-year terms on the board of Directors of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. They are John Beverley, International Petroleum Co., Ltd.; Robert L. Cherry, DDS; H. A. Crowley, Ponce Seed Store; Sam G. Miller, Sears, Roebuck and Co.; and Rolfe Neill Coral Gables Times. Carry-over members of the board include Robert J. Bradley, Edward F. Brown, W. Hamilton Hayes, Robert R. Hildreth, Frank E. Kerdyk, Byron M. Nelson, Edward T. Rempe, Dr. Richard E. Strain and Robert E. Yoxall. The new board will hold its organizational meeting April 26 at which time officers for the new year will be elected. Both new officers and directors will be officially installed at the annual dinner of the Chamber on May 9 at the Coral Gables Country Club. Scheduled speaker is H. Swim Classes

The spring session for those who want to "learn to swim", is under way at the Matheson Hammock Park. There are classes for three groups: adults, pre-school, beginners (1st through 6th grades). For more details call the Dade County Park and Recreation Department at FR 3-6385.

The Metro Transit Authority has asked the Gables to quit picking up passengers on its Miami runs. Metro indicated it had no objection to dropping off passengers picked up in Miami, City

Merchants Add Five

The retail merchant members of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce have elected five new members to their Board of Directors. Elected for two year terms are William Cooper, of Cooper Motor Sales; Ed Crowley of Ponce Seed Store; Mrs. Madeline McEldowney of Elliott's, Don Mullen of the Don Mullen Shop; and Mrs. Grayce Wedemeyer of Coral Gables Flower Shop. The new directors will attend their first reorganization-al meeting April 26. Carry-over directors of the division include Paul Campbell, Frank Maury, Sam Miller, B. J. Newberger and Ernest White.
