For You: Tea & a Good Book
Our town's proposed $400,000 library should seem even closer next Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. For the welcome mat has been rolled out for all Gableites to attend a tea, which will be held a few feet from the library site, in the loggia of Coral Gables City Hall. Sponsoring the tea is the Coral Gables Woman's Club, which started the library in 1927 and managed it, with City financial help, until 1954, when the City assumed full control. Guests of honor at the tea will be Chief Librarian Margaret Beaton; president of the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs, Mrs. M. Lewis Hall; and president of the Gables Woman's Club, Mrs. John R. Worley. National Library Week is April 8-14 and circulation librarian Helen O'Neil has several displays at the Gables library that may interest you. One, in particular, lists the names of books that cover the infant, the student, the businessmen and family man, citizen and senior citizen.
