ROBERT A. DAVIDSON, 31-year-old president of the Coral Gables Board of Realtors who is suffering from a kidney ailment, was reported Wednesday morning in a coma at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Davidson lives at 733 Madeira Ave.
Gables High Seniors Aren't Spooked by Test
By JOYCE DENIS Correspondent The night of hob-goblins, spooks and masqueraders left no menacing effects, but merely followed a more scary endeavor, Senior Placements. The test, administered on Tuesday, Oct. 30 to half the Coral Gables High School seniors, and Wednesday, Oct. 31 to the remaining group, was neither a trick nor a treat, but rather an attempt to uncover the students' college ability. CLUB RULES Many clubs have posted requirements in view of those desiring membership. Pen and Sable art club is considering the original art work of the honorary's hopefuls. A poster for the Gables-Miami game or the Gables-Southwest game, an illustration suitable for posting in a children's ward at a local hospital and last requisite, visitation of an art gallery with a descriptive essay. These will be judged by the sponsor, Mrs. George, provided they were submitted by Nov. 1. OPEN MEMBERSHIP Are you 5'8" or taller? Then your attribute will grant membership in Tip Toppers provided you possess fine character traits and acceptaole grades.
SEMESTER OFFICERS
Members of the Coral Gables Junior Exchange Club selected Mike Donaghue president for their first semester. Assisting Mike is vice president Gary Walko; secretary David Shull and treasurer Marty Cohen.
Officer Hurt On Cycle
A Metro Motorcycle Officer, Robert Bolough, 26, of Hialeah, is reported in "good" condition at Doctors' Hospital following an accident on Miracle Mile Monday afternoon. Bolough was injured when his motorcycle fell on top of him. He collided with the rear of a car backing out near the intersection of Miracle Mile and Galiano Street. Gables Officer Russell Jones was riding in a patrol car just ahead of Bolough and saw in his rear view mirror that he had to swerve to avoid the backing car. The auto was driven by Elizabeth Gertrude Allen, 66, 825 Coral Way. Bolough did not make it.
Rites Today For Car Rent Owner
Services for Lester E. Sparkman Sr., 64, of 533 Sunset Rd., will be held at 10:30 today (Thursday) in Philbrick Chapel. Masonic services will follow at Woodlawn Park Mausoleum. He died Monday. He was the owner and founder of Lester-U-Drive-It Inc., a car rental in downtown Miami. Sparkman came here in 1912 from Whitesprings and was a deacon of the First Christian Church of Miami, a member of Biscayne Bay Masonic Lodge, World War I Veteran, and Sportsman's Club of Greater Miami. Surviving are his wife, Dottie M.; a son, Lester E. Jr.; daughter, Mrs. Joe R. Evans, Maitland; five grandchildren; brother, Herbert E., Princeton, Fla.; and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Stevens, Cocoa Beach and Miss Mabel Sparkman.
Parking Fees
Parking at the new three-story off street parking garage in the rear of the Miracle Building will be 15 cents for the first half hour and five cents for each additional half hour. After 6 p.m., the flat rate will be 25 cents. The garage, with space for 300 cars, is scheduled to be ready in December.

(2) August 2, 1961 - Congressman Fascell introduced a bill, referred to the Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce, to prohibit the shipment in interstate or foreign commerce of articles imported into the United States from Cuba. (3) August 18, 1961 - Congressman Fascell introduced amendment to foreign aid bill authorizing and directing the President to invoke a complete embargo on Cuba; passed by overwhelming vote. (Passed - Now Public Law). As a result the President did invoke an embargo. (4) Sept. 6, 1962 - Congressman Dante Fascell advocated use of whatever means was necessary, including force, to drive Castro and the Communists out of Cuba. As a result the Congress, a few days later, passed a resolution along the lines requested by Fascell to deal with Castro. Voters of the 4th Congressional District may well be proud of this recognition by a national publication concerning the tireless efforts of their Congressman, Dante Fascell to alert the Congress and the nation to the Castro-Communist threat.
