Lawrence C. Pedicord, associate headmaster of Riviera Day School, has been appointed to the National Spalding Tennis Advisory Staff for the next three years. He resides with his wife Nancy and two daughters, Kim and Candy, at 6821 Sunset Dr. ★ ★ ★ Jeffery Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beck, 4000 Santa Maria, has been named to first honors for the second marking period of the first semester at Perkiomen School, Pennsburg, Pa. First honors are given to students who have no grade below a "B." ★ ★ ★ Michael Rosen, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. David Rosen, 1232 Castile Ave., will be Bar Mitzvah Saturday morning at Temple Judea. Michael, an eighth-grader at Ponce Junior High School, plays drums in the school band. ★ ★ ★ Lee Anne Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leeds M. Mitchell Jr., 925 Andalusia Ave. will participate in the Denison University Concert Choir Christmas presentation of Bach's "Magnificent" Sunday at the college's Swasey Chapel, Graville, Ohio. Lee Anne, a sophomore, sings soprano. ★ ★ ★ John F. Douglas Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Douglas, 536 Mendoza Ave., has pledged Phi Delta Theta at Georgia Tech. He is a freshman majoring in industrial management and a freshman tackle on the football team. He'll be home Dec. 16 for Christmas vacation. The other member of the Douglas family is Tom, a sophomore at Coral Gables High School. ★ ★ ★ Stanley Silvern, 4947 Riviera Dr., has been named chairman of the Temple Zamora Bar Mitzvah Year Book, marking the Temple's 13th anniversary. Committee members include Leon Honig, William Raskin, Harold Shuman, Harry Marks and Morris Moskowitz. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. Raymond McAdams, 2301 Alhambra Cir., gave a buffet Dec. 8 for her Rose Society meeting. Approximately 36 couples attended. Mr. and Mrs. Huckaba, rose authorities from Atlanta, spoke after the buffet.
