Coconut Grove Serviceman Receives Safe Driver Award With Battalion In Germany

Army Specialist Four Wesley S. Nock Jr., whose parents, Dr. and Mrs. Wesley S. Nock Sr., live at 3431 N. Moorings way, Coconut Grove, recently received a safe driver award while assigned to the 19th Ordnance Battalion in Germany. In order to qualify for the award a soldier must have been assigned as a driver of a military vehicle for 12 months. He must have a good record of maintenance on his vehicle and no record of traffic violations for this period. Nock, a driver in the battalion's 63rd Ordnance Company in Mannheim, entered the Army in July 1959, completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S. C., and arrived overseas the following December. The 18-year-old soldier is a 1959 graduate of Coral Gables High School.
