THE CHARM THAT IS PARIS will come to Coral Gables March 24 when Merrick Demonstration School's PTA mothers present the latest in fashions at 8 p.m. In keeping with the theme, "Portraits in Fashions," the models are presented in portrait frames. At top is fashion show chairman Mrs. Robert Stubbs, 215 Romano Ave., wearing a linen, sky-blue blouse and creamy-white skirt with a plum, Obi-type sash. At bottom is PTA president Mrs. Selden Stewart, 424 Almeria Ave., in a pink, imported sheer cotton with insets of openwork and embroidery. The show, which will be held in the cafetorium, is open to the public.
Three To Be Visited Lovers Of Gardens Will Tour Homes
The annual home and garden tour of the Coral Gables Garden Club will take place Monday. Three area Coral Gables homes and gardens will be visited. A brief executive board meeting at 12:45 p.m. has been called by Mrs. Malcolm Lovell, club president. Members and their guests will leave the club house at 2 p.m. after a brief business meeting. Mrs. Edwin Woodward, program chairman, is in charge of the tour. First Home Mrs. O. C. Corbin's home and garden at 9300 Old Cutler Rd. will be the first home visited. A natural hammock, the native growth of a large tract of land facing the bay is filled with orchids of Mrs. Corbin's culture, and she is planning a palm garden soon. Second Home The second home to be visited is Mrs. Seneca Anderson's at 4906 N. Kendall Dr., where there are some 70 mango trees and palms growing on the many acres surrounding the house, designed to harmonize with the natural growth. Mrs. Fred H. Billups, 3441 Alhambra Cir., will open her home for the end of the garden tour where members and their guests will enjoy a tea and discussion of the gardens they visited.
Current winter crop of Florida strawberries is expected to total 7,200,000 pounds — an increase over 1960.

Portrait In Fashions Is PTA Theme
By EUNICE TALL MO 1-2294 The Merrick Demonstration Elementary School PTA will present its annual fashion show tomorrow night at 8 in the school cafetorium. The fashion show will follow the theme of "Portrait in Fashions." Mothers, teachers and grandmothers connected with the school and the PTA will model the clothes. Entertainment will be provided by Jack Murphy, pantomimic. Mrs. Robert Stubbs, PTA board member, is the fashion show chairman; Mrs. N. U. D. Buice is in charge of decorations; and Mrs. T. S. Budd is in charge of refreshments. Everyone is welcome to attend. Admission is $1. All profits will go into the PTA treasury for their school projects.

Prado Circle To Play Bridge
The Prado Circle of the Florence Crittenton Home for Girls will sponsor a benefit bridge luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mrs. J. Fritz Gordon, 1706 Country Club Prado. The public is invited and foursomes of bridge should make up their own tables. Mrs. Robert R. White is the 1961 president of the Prado Circle.
Golf Class Opening
The YWCA announces that registration is open for a basic golf course to be taught by Elmer Gerth, pro at Granada Golf Course. The class is open to both women and men. It will be taught each Monday and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. beginning April 17. All equipment is furnished.
Gables High PTA
Tuesday March 28 is the date set for the Coral Gables High School PTA monthly meeting. The theme of this program will be "Guiding Tomorrow's Men and Women". A panel of four parents will include Mr. Walter Beckham, well known attorney; Mr. Robert Searle, member of the Gables City Commission; Mrs. L. W. Dowling. Mrs. L. W. Baskin and Mrs. Walter Piper, PTA president, will be alternate.
