Century Club Dance Will Cap Season
The last of the Century Club's four eleborate dinner dances until next season will take place Friday evening at the Country Club of Coral Gables. Spring flowers and colors will be used to resemble a Dutch garden. Windmill cut-outs will trim the side lights of the ballroom where the party will be held. The chandeliers will be bowers of blooms, with pink and yellow the scheme. Flower boxes with tulips and buttercups will lend an Easter atmosphere. Parties Planned Parties of from 10 to 20 will be made up of members and their guests with the largest that of Mr. and Mrs. James Branch, who will host a table of 40. Guests will include Col. and Mrs. Hendrick Zornig, houseguests of Gen. and Mrs. Theodore Weyher. General Weyher is dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Miami and Mr. Branch is professor of Architectural and Civil Engineering at the UM. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jones will host a table of 16 members. Guests will include Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Creel and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burris. Mr. and Mrs. Merroll Fain Self and Mr. and Mrs. W. Bates Cole will be guests at the table of 16 members hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bowen Nelson. 12 Guests Col. and Mrs. Frank Montgomery Dunbaugh will have as their guests, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Fleming at their table of 12 members. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Dorn Reducka will host a table of 12 members. Their guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Craig. Mr. and Mrs. William Lyles Randol will head a table of 14 members. Guests will be Dr. and Mrs. E. Clay Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin J. Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rodgers Rees will have 10 members at their table, including members Mr. and Mrs. William Fuller and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. George Kimmel.
MISS GEORGEANN DAVIS, June candidate for graduation from the University of Miami's nursing school, was recently selected Most Outstanding Delta Zeta in Florida. The award was made at the sorority's State Day Convention in Winter Park. Miss Davis is one of 35 girls in the United States to receive such an honor. The UM student has served as corresponding secretary, first vice-president, and president of Beta Nu Chapter at the University.
Cancer Benefit
Pythian Sisters, Roosevelt Temple 33, will sponsor their annual Cancer Research Card Party and Mah Jongg on Wednesday, March 29, at 8 p.m. at Pythian Hall, 4601 W. Flagler St. All proceeds will be donated for cancer research.
New Cancer Unit Organized
The Tom J. Ewing Unit, Women's Corps of the Miami Cancer Institute, is the Institute's 12th unit. It was recently organized. Named in memory of the late Capt. Tom J. Ewing, a captain for Pan American Airways for 14 years, the unit is composed of women living in the greater Coral Gables area. Officers are Mrs. Tom J. Ewing, president; Mrs. Dennis Renuart, first and Mrs. Michael Goodson, second, vice presidents; Mrs. Nelson Tower, recording and Mrs. Larry Boyajian, corresponding, secretaries ;and Mrs. Frank Catterson, treasurer.
