Step Aboard My Elephant- And Away!

University of Miami Main Campus students and guards were startled Saturday night to see an elephant walking along the main campus. It wasn't pink either. The pachyderm, being led down the boulevard by Judd Zieth, 21, of Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity, was to be his date's transportation. As unusual as that may have seemed, Marsha Bliznick, 18, a student of the 720 dorm, appeared to be willing to mount the elephant, but University officials reportedly put a damper on the unusual plan. They told Zietz to pack his trunk and get out. Zietz, reportedly later admitted that the whole thing was a publicity stunt arranged with a circus appearing on Bird Rd. Circus officials later picked up Dixie, the eight year old elephant, and returned her to less academic surroundings.

For over 14 years, Ace RB Van Lines, Inc., has been satisfying thousands of families. Ace RB Van Lines has always sought to "make that move an easy one," Paul D. Berlin, president, declared. "In line with continued efforts to improve our service, we counsel with the housewife, explaining the steps to be taken in advance so that moving can be a pleasant experience—this service has earned us many commendations." "Very cooperative," "very good service," "fast and efficient," are expressions from satisfied customers. Established in 1947 Ace RB Van Lines, Inc., with their air conditioned offices, and fire proof warehouse, 2136 NW 24th Ave., established their main office here 14 years ago and has since assumed a place of leadership in the moving and storage fields. "In 1947 there was just one truck, a 16 foot furniture van used for local moving," Berlin said. "Five years ago we acquired our ICC license permitting us to operate long distance vans. Today nine modern furniture trucks handle all local movings and serve 23 Eastern and Midwestern States." Up To Date Equipment The modern, all aluminum 40 foot trailer makes frequent trips along the Eastern seaboard and Midwestern states. It is capable of carrying entire contents of a household or part loads for various individuals. Thirty-five foot vans, sufficient to carry entire contents of an average household, are used to carry local movings. Safe delivery of furnishings and fragile pieces are dependent upon correct packing. Ace's expert packers use plenty of soft pads and packing know-how to assure greatest safety for shipping by freight, sea or air. The Line also handles shipments to Puerto Rico, and the Panama Canal Zone. Warehouse Facilities Fireproof storage facilities are also available for families moving to and from Miami. All household furnishings are kept here until the families have decided upon where they are moving. The storage rates are all at a minimum. "There is also a savings factor," Berlin declared. "We have reduced tariff rates — this enables us to offer lower prices to our customers. Take for example, the charge for a minimum 500 lb. delivery to New York City is only $62.50 — Chicago $63.00 — Cleveland $62.00" "The expert estimators of Ace RB Van Lines will gladly advise you to the most efficient and economical way of handling your moving," said Berlin.
