Students bring home 3 Silver Knights

For the past two years Palmetto students have received the highest number of Silver Knight Awards of any other school participating. Palmetto is proud to have three students who have become Silver Knight winners for 1976. Judy Smith haswon in Mathematics, Matthew Fishman in English and Literature, and Beth Levey in Citizenship. Lynn Klotz received honorable mention for Journalism, and Lori Richmond for Art. Prom Court elections are being held, with students voting on sophomore, junior, and senior nominees. The Prom Court Queen will be crowned at the Junior-Senior Prom on May 22. Preparations for the prom are underway with a committee of junior class students working diligently to make the prom a success. "Traces of Memories" is the theme of the Prom that will be held at the Deauville Hotel. Boys spring football practice began last week. Any interested boys who wish to participate in football next year should see Coach Davis. An Awards Assembly to honor outstanding seniors who have given their time for the school and community will be conducted on May 13 in the auditorium. Junior class elections will begin on May 11 and Senior class elections on May 18. Applications for Senior class officers may be obtained in Student Activities. The girls' softball team will advance to state competition with a full contingent Thursday at 7 p.m. in Titusville. The Student Council will be attending the annual state convention May 6-8 in St. Petersburg. Election of state officers is on the agenda.
