Guest room can be put to full time, use
A guest room can do more than just sleep the occasional visitor. There is no reason to sacrifice this room to a lonely vigil, when it can be put to full-time practical use. And with space at a premium in most households today, the guest room plus can be a solution. Study center If two children share a bedroom, you can create a study center for one in the guest room. A built-in desk and bookshelves running alone one wall can provide a quiet homework area and privacy for study. For arts and crafts buffs in the family, create a fun hobby center. All sewing supplies and the sewing machine can be grouped together, away from traffic areas of the house. Needles won't be found on the sofa anymore, and pattern sections can stay together. Libraby or den The guest room can alternate as a library or den, to give people a chance to get away from the television. They can ready quietly or listen to music, without competing with prime time television. A work area in one corner is ideal for building model airplanes, or setting up the stamp collection, or providing a a part-time play room. Store clothes Other discovered uses include storage for clothes and supplies tbat hibernate for long stretches. Halloween costumes, the Santa Clause outfit, winter clothes, picnic baskets, and other seasonal supplies can be stored under a guest room bed, or in a specially-built closet, or under desks that run the length of a wall. Low priority It's understandable that this little-used room has low priority for redecorating. Paneling could be the ideal way to transform your new-found area into the guest room plus. Slightly cracked or paint-chipped walls can be covered up with easy-to-install prefinished paneling. Marlite 16" X 8' plank slips right together because of tongue-and-grove edges. This "minipaneling" can be installed right over the existing wall, giving a new look to the guest room without extensive wall preparation. Woodgrain designs Washable Marilite plank comes in woodgrain reproductions, textured woodgrain designs, and 10 designer colors. Any theme can be created, from traditional through comtemporary. With new life injected into the guest room it will be ready to handle your family's hobbies or homework or relaxation, while providing valuable "extra" space for the family.
