by helen reynolds society editor Mrs. Wade Livingston Street not only sang at the late show aboard the luxury liner Matsonia but was invited to the Captain's champagne party. Mrs. Street, long-time Gables resident, and Mrs. Virginia Cole, a friend from Daytona Beach, drove to Los Angeles in Mrs. Cole's car to board the Matsonia. Visiting all the islands, even Pearl Harbor, she adds "I am knee deep in orchids, pineapple juice and the Pacific Ocean." Claudia will spend some time in San Francisco and in Los Angeles will visit an old friend Madalyn Holloway for two weeks and fly home. * * * When George, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Abraham of South Alhambra Circle, visited home last week from Valley Forge Military Academy, he spent a lot of time scaning the maps, plotting the course his dad is to take. It is the Carriage Club Caravan businessmen will take with Gableite Art Bruns the leader. The group will visit the Orient, leaving May 8. * * * Miss Avril Dewey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dewey, 917 Tangier St., has been elected to serve as publicity chairman of the Lela Raney Wood dormitory at Stephens College, for the 1961-62 school year. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Deremo of 524 Mendoza Ave. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, entertaining at an afternoon open house Sunday afternoon. Married in Cincinnati in 1911, they have been Gableites since 1943. Receiving with the celebrants were Miss Eleanor Hoffeld, Cincinnati, Mrs. Deremo's sister; Mrs. Elsie Wise, of Dayton. Both of them were in the wedding party 50 yers ago. Also greeting guests were the Deremo's only daughter, and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. Edwin Roberts, 19021 Sterling Dr., Bel Aire, and the three granddaughters, Dorothy, Carol and Kathie. Dorothy came home from Florida State University for the occasion. Out of town guests included Mr. Deremo's sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Pottle of Bradenton; Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Wiggers of New Port Richey; Mr. Deremo's nephew and family, the Nowal D. Osburns of St. Petersburg; Mrs. Mary McCann of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Norbert McCue of Dunedin; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bliss of Pompano Beach; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ward of West Palm Beach and Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Schellenberg of Winter Park.

Alberts Cruise To Haiti After Wedding

MRS. LOUIS ALBERT Alberts Cruise To Haiti After Wedding A double ring ceremony Saturday united the former Miss Carol Ann Mills and Louis J. Albert in marriage. For their wedding trip the couple is on a Caribbean cruise to Haiti. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles James Pastorfield of 701 San Juan Dr. The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Albert of Miami. The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather, Mr. Pastorfield. She wore a white peau de soie bridal gown with bustle back, beaded bodice and long point-at-hand sleeves. Her bouffant short veil fell from a lily-of-the valley and rosebud head piece. She carried a bouquet of white orchids, white roses and valley lilies. Mrs. John C. Rosen of Jacksonville was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Allen George, Mrs. Helen Crowe, Miss Marilyn Jetton, all of Miami; Mrs. Michael Silver of Ft. Pierce and Mrs. Albert Souckar of Ft. Lauderdale. The six attendants wore gowns made alike of turquoise chiffon made sheath style with gathered overskirts and draped bodice. They carried happiness roses bouquets. Louis E. Albert, of Chicago, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Charles K. George of Coral Gables; Allen George, Richard Abdenour, Phillip George all of Miami, and Albert Souckar of Ft. Lauderdale. The Rev. John O'Doud officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony at the Church of the Epiphany. The reception took place at the home of the bride's parents. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Pastorfield wore a pink silk sheath, the bodice embroidered in pink and rose. Her headpiece, with short veil matched her corsage was composed of pink and ruby orchids. Mrs. Louis E. Albert, sister of the groom and who reared him, took the place of his mother in the ceremony. Her gown was of avocado green chiffon and her corsage was green orchids. A sidelight concerns the bride who was queen of the Rose Ball in 1956. Her first prize was $300 worth of flowers for her wedding. She was also a former Coronet model. The bride attended Miami High School and the University of Florida. The groom, also a graduate of Miami High School attended the University of Florida and the University of Miami. The couple will reside at 9715 SW 77th Ter.

Name It, You'll See It As Goofy Golfers Strut

It's "tee time" today (Thursday) for the Biltmore Women's Golf Association. Golf chairman Mrs. Gertrude Weiner is sponsoring a tournament. The play will be best ball of partners, draw partners. Tomorrow, a cavalcade of costumed golfers will walk the links when Biltmore women match strokes with the Granada Women's Golf Association at the annual costume golf tournament. In last week's action, the Biltmore women played a nine best holes tournament. Class A winners were Mrs. Mike Gorman (30) and Mrs. Joy MacMurray (31). Class B winners were Mrs. Julia Holth (27 1/2) and Mrs. Kay Keefe (29), Class C victors were Mrs. Lee Singer (25 1/2) and Mrs. Jackie Haffenberg (27).

Coffee Set For Friday

A coffee honoring new members of Woman's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church of Coral Gables will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the home of Mrs. Walter Beckham Jr. 4209 Santa Maria Ave. Mrs. Malcolm B. McDonald was elected to serve as the society's president for the 1961-62 year. Others elected to the board are Mrs. Roy H. Schlegel, vice-president; Mrs. George Poulos, recording secretary; Mrs. Leonard Kuyper, treasurer and Mrs. Russell Paige, corresponding secretary.

Judith A. Lewis Heads Students

Judith A. Lewis, 1434 Sarria Ave., is one of 23 University of Michigan coeds chosen to head five student organizations for the coming year.

Dads Go Back To School With Girls

Carol Posner Linda Easton Louis Easton, 551 Jeronimo Dr., and C. M. Posner, 1037 Alhambra Cir., will join their daughters at Wellesley College Friday and Saturday. It is the 15th annual Sophomore Day there. Mr. Easton's daughter is Linda Easton. Mr. Posner's daughter is Carol Posner. This year Fathers' "Day" actually extends two days, Friday and Saturday, the 28th and 29th.
